The central symbolic element that inhabits both Mayan/Aztec cosmology & the major sunburst design is the Nahui Ollin, their core cosmological concept of the cardinal points of existence & perception. The Ollin is also the central element of the massive Sun Stone Calendar that maps the evolving cycles of human conflict with the apocalyptical forces of creation, and the Mesoamerican sacrificial rituals to placate the dark gods of solar eclipses. This central point should probably have been mentioned. Yes, movie palaces & theaters were once the early 20th century's true modern temples of myth & imagination, and the Mayan clearly showcases that fact.

I have never been on A cruise , closest would be The Queen Mary :( anyway heck they look like malls. I would have to go w/ the Bamboo Room great colors really liked the bar chairs/stools just think drinks could have had more garnishment

@@TimTeboner yeah… it’s still a cruise ship after all. But, if you adjust your expectations then they’re fine, all things considered. Although I liked the atmosphere of the Schooner Bar much better than the Bamboo Room, the Bamboo Room had way better drinks (IMO)!

The Toasted Coconut is fine and has good food but it's not a tiki bar. Lei Low is the real thing. They've managed to hit that sweet spot of being both tiki and a neighborhood bar. One word of warning though--parking isn't great, so allow a little extra time to find a space.
