I had a 1968 firebird 400 convertible, my first ever muscle car and project ever, I went to college, and my dad bought me for me while I was studying restoration technologies. My fire chicken was just like this. Bought it from a restoration shop at the daytona turkey rod swap meet for 5k from a shop in Orlando FL, ended up having an apprenticeship from that restoration shop. They had attempted to jigsaw and put it together, I clearly member after my dad paid for the car, the guy handed my dad the title with the rust bent up vin plate in a zip-loc bag 😑🙄😵, I did tell my dad mmmm maybe we should keep looking for another car. The fire-turd gets delivered to my college after winter break was over, I got a small storage unit to use as a shop, started removing the paint, and started sanding, oh btw.. the engine was seized 400 pontiac in it, wasn't the correct engine, they said it was a 455, but the car was originally a straight 6 with a 3 speed saginaw😑😮💨😪, .... back to the paint stripping part.... I was sanding stripping the paint from the body and noticed I was hitting some filler no surprise... continued sanding and hit more filler and filler and filler and even more filler, thick layers... so I decided to take a small chisel and struck the side of this deep filler . Thick chunks were coming off of the car, then started finding the rear quarters were cut and welded just like this car on the video, this fire-turd my dad bought me... my fire turd must've been in some insane accident in it's life at some point and sat in an junkyard 😂 for a while until the the arangatangs who then decide to set up a look alike restoration project, easy flip wanted to make a quick buck on some poor soul😢... this poor car was a disaster. I rented a media blaster and blasted the all of the remaining filler and paint and started finding multiple large holes and holes what appeared to be from buck shot 😅 in one of the doors and then the floor pans were two different colors yellow and purple.. out of something, and they cut out the old floor pans and slid these ones on top of it and just welded em in... horrible welds like they were using a stick welder, same thing with the rear quarters they put on but the panels had been so warped it was just awful. I asked the Sheetal fab professor if he'd be interested to use to tech students on as it needed alot of work on, he took a look at it for one second and and he didn't want 😅this monstrosity in his sheet metal lab... I didn't blame him, it was sorta embarrassing 😳 I heard multiple gasps from other students and the other restoration professors. The college I studied restoration at does nothing but Concourse level restorations for some of the most rare and incredible cars and collections in the world and it's located in the mid west. After I had not been doing so well in college and realized that I was not cause material. And I had to return home, I asked the director of my restoration program I wanted to donate the fire-turd to the college, They wanted nothing to do with the car😅 it was that bad not even take or and scrap it. My dad was shocked, too.. it was definitely a lesson learned and I realized I didn't the headaches caused by not only age, destruction, and two rednecks... I did not enjoy 😑 doing restoration as a job/career, more of for fun, as I do appreciate the art and craftsmanship, skills it takes, it's a labor of love and most of the people I saw were drunks, drug addicts, guys in the restoration shops not showing up to work, people unhappy and frequently bitching and moaning and in hot and dusty body shops, from filler/bondo everywhere, crap everywhere what I saw on motor trend TV with guys/ like wayne carini, Dan short, chip foose, mark worman, chris Jacob's, Boyd coddington, never meet your heroes, You will be disappointed, it's not as it seems, very unhappy people. Also made me realize, I'm not a body guy, more of a powertrain/drivetrain restoration guy and researching the history of the vehicle if it's something very unique for the customer, and realizing just wanted to do this for fun and I have a great job/career as a standby generator technician i was incredibly grateful to clarify if it sounds like im whining, but im experessing my disgust and experience my first restoration project of my own.

i like japan, but i started to dislike the inhabitants. they are proud of their cruel culture. taking a long time to show their true selves , lying to others , refusing to be direct ... their culture is unbearable . i hate them. why i should respect them? how i could trust them if they prefer to behave like automatons all the time? is there any hope to convince them to not taking their time and showing their honne? how to ask them if our japanese is badly spoken? i have met so much of arrogant and provocative japanese who defend their culture. these people disgust me. i have my reason to be racist now. instead of reporting me , explain yourselves. weebs as japanese.
