Funny (by which I mean, fascinating) story: I was recently blessed and guided to the Tijani path. It was not an easy transition for me. I had another guide before this who I loved very much, but for reasons I won't go into, he could no longer serve as my murshid. The whole process of losing him made me confused and worried about the direction I should go. I was more alone than I had ever been in my life. Suddenly, Tijanis came to be my only points of contact--all other Muslims "on the path" were unavailable to me. After many years of help from them, one finally said, "I think you should consider joining to Tijani tariqa." I never considered it, ever in my life. It is not a tariqa I would choose for myself. But as they say, "the tariqa chooses you." I hemmed, hawed, and dilly-dallied for a few months, until it became clear I had no other choice. If I declined Sidna Shaykh's invitation, I felt I would be punished. So I joined, and received idhn for the Tijani awrad, which I am now implementing to the best of my ability, alhamdulillah. Anyways, to end the long story: I found this video in my KZfaq "favorites." I saved it years ago, and had totally forgotten about it. Apparently something struck me about this video way back when. I have no recollection of saving it, or why I did it. But it was comforting to unexpectedly find it there, after all this time. As if I'm being comforted... I take this unexpected "find" to be, perhaps, a demonstration or sign, indicating that this has always been my path... even if I didn't "consciously" know it. May Allah increase me in love of Sidna Shaykh Ahmad Tijani (radi'Allahu 'anhu), and all the true awliya of past times and present, and in love of His Messenger (sallill'ahu 'aleyhi wa sallim), and the Ahlul Bayt and the Sahabah (may Allah be pleased with them), and all of the past Prophets and their followers. Ameen.
