I did it with a butter knife, it worked lol. and OMG it was so gross. (Black mold) SOOO glad I took it apart and cleaned it tho. It wouldn’t agitate anymore if the laundry load was too big, so hopefully cleaning all that grossness out fixed that problem. Thanks!

Thanks so much! I could not figure out how to get the "screw" out. You are clever. I used a chisel.

Use a 1/2” socket extension with no socket to unscrew the first plastic part.

Thank you so much!!! I've been trying to find a video just like yours because my agitator is the exact same kind and no one else mentions any kind of alternative to disassembling the agitator besides the 7/16 socket. Thank you thank you thank you.

Thank you so much. Was racking my brain on how to remove that central retainer. 5/8in paddle was brilliant. I used a 3/4in chisel. Turned it out by hand. So easy. Replace the agitator dogs and doing a heavy load right now to test. Looking good!

Perfect. I kept seeing the “you’ll find a 7/16 nut” videos and I’m thinking “NOPE” - and the insert unscrewed with a finger. Yahoo! Nice idea about the paddle bits, though. I’m filing that away for future reference. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

THANK YOU BUBBA. HEY, IF YOU HAVE A SPARE TIRE REMOVER FOR A PICKUP TRUCK, SOME HAVE A MALE END THAT WILL FIT INTO THAT 1/2" DRIVE. YOU CAN USE THAT INSTEAD OF A HALF INCH DRIVE RATCHET W/ EXTENSION.. IF THAT HELPS ANYONE.

Like the other person said ,had to look through a dozen vids to find this one, that has all of the info for my 90. Especially that little square plastic holder/keeper. That prevents you from grabbing the nut . 5/8 drillbit is key.. That was the best info ! the part number is 80040.. I will buy two for this round last another two years with heavy use of rugs/blankets. 15 minutes work. .Great old machines. ..THANKS
