Such a tiny filter! But I guess it's only using ~36 gallons a day. Nice find and repair!

Great practical knowledge, that depressor is pretty common on most switches now even the peanut ones, I always try and double check, but just watching another tech do it reinforces good habits. I think you are definitely teaching good habits, and helping people with practical knowledge they can actually use in the field. Also, keep up with the component descriptions, it helps us

Unique circumstance. 5-7:30 my hood cleaning guy was going here anyway so I rolled out with him. I’m not normally onsite servicing till 7am.

on the makeup air control box, the wires from the bottom of overload to fan look terminated weird. the blue wire looks like its infront of the screw. 10m 55sec. the 2 red wires look ordinarily terminated too. u can twist a few lengths of solder together and put a hook on the end to lift filters out of ductwork

Yep - they fried it all. Common would be one side of the transformer and the other 3 would be taps off the other side. From one tap to another across 208 to 240 would be 32 volts across 208 volts, meaning the 24v side had roughly 138 volts across it.. poof goes the magic smoke. If I didn't know any better I'd say sabotage. But perhaps a large enough inadequacy could look identical.

Hahaha, not a sponsor! Love your sense of humor. Just purchased a used on myself a few minutes ago. I gotta say though, the price tag brutha!🥶 Hope it's all that they say it is. I also purchased the new Neat Plus version, but by the looks of it this one is better, because it has stronger pressure and can go deeper into the carpets and such. Thanks for the video!

Good for the Customer --- You save him from his unit going down. You --- Can Do at Your Leisure. Schedule it & Do it When u Want to. NOT When it Blows on the HOTTEST Day of the year.

It's always nice to have a fully functional identical unit below the one that's not working. Really streamlines the troubleshooting process. Nice work 👏

On the pressure controls that are brazed on, I normally use the pinch off tool to crimp the line, cut off the old pressure switch, and braze the end shut just to prevent a leak if/when the sensor ends up leaking. When I have the torches up there, I also normally braze on a piercing schrader valve next the old sensor, so that I can install a new pressure switch and easily replace it again in the future.

I had 2 Daikon 10 ton RTUs same restaurant had both stages with bad HPS. Couldn’t believe it honestly one of the weirdest things I’ve had happen in awhile. Has to be something to do with the manufacture of that switch or batch of switches.

If the unit is over 5 tons capacity Install a duct smoke detector in the unit return with local shutdown ( code) With a new control board Keep the unit (oem)
@restaurantrepairs2 күн бұрын
Original smoke is bypassed we’ll have to bring the board back for heating in the winter but now the owner can make not rushed decisions
@restaurantrepairs2 күн бұрын
Also “code”. Dude was building a 700 psi bomb on his roof running with no safeties. I just don’t get it. The smoke thing your not wrong on. “Do it right” should apply to everything if I’m gonna gripe about missing safeties others left. 👍
@CubbyTech2 күн бұрын
Wow! What a S**t show. I'm surprised that the bad wiring to the transformer took out everything. I love how you just bypassed the control board.

On a more complex machine with dehumidification and economizers obviously that would be a bigger problem. But when it comes to keeping old raggedy machines running DUMB EM DOWN BABY!!!
