Do these have pops like picture discs? Or do they play quiet if they are NM condition?
@drprogensteinphp
@drprogensteinphp 3 жыл бұрын
I find them to be a bit noisy, but no pops like with picture discs. Nothing overwhelming or distracting. At least not on mine. Pretty sure the same or similar laminate process is used as picture discs, however the surface is metal. I've only cleaned them with distilled water on my VPI vacuum machine. I've never used any alcohol or chemical based record cleaning solutions. I own two copies of this exact pressing, both NM condition and all are very consistent sonically speaking. Definitely not as clean sounding as my NM standard black vinyl versions of this album. That said, the silver/platinum does sound better than most picture discs I own.

Oh yeah !!!! Still functional at this age ... reminds me of seeing Jethro Tull in 2000 or 2001 ... they were incredible ... just muuuuuch heavier than on record , ´stand up`; ´Aqualung` mainly ... they almost played those two in their entirety AFAICR.

Glad ol' Mick's still out there carrying on. Very good renditions of the old Heep tunes, and Mick can still tear it up.

Buddy from Calgary. I am European living in Ontario for 30 years, and I am still jealous of what you could experience in the "Wild Wild WEST" of Canada.. Do not worry that much about your shaky camera experience, because I believe that it was so much excitement involved with that concert of the stars from 70's & 80's, like for sure "Uriah Heep" it was at their peak of its popularity & productivity of the most of the beautiful hard=rock songs ever written and recorded at that time. A simple "July Morning" is still giving me a heart beat faster then normal. It is just a rock poetry, talking about lyrics itself. It is unbelievable, how come "Uriah Heep" landed in Calgary, not playing in Toronto & Montreal. I have no idea .... honestly, I have no idea. Today is May 20th, and it happened in Calgary , AB just 19th days ago. WoW ))))) They are in the shape for the stage in 2018. It is hard to believe. A way to go "URIAH HEEP" !!!! CONGRATULATIONS. Please, keep playing )))))) >>> "Easy Livin'" they played at the end of their tour in Canada, just shredded me for the pieces :o)) > Yo !!!!

Well .... I was seriously sick, and probably I didn't pay very much of attention into a small advertising .... I am living in suburbs East of Toronto. That is probably WHY it happened. I hope for the next time .... always !!!! Maybe in "Casino Rama" in Orillia, ON ?? Who knows that for sure, eh ?? :o)) Thank you bro for sharing your honest comments. I appreciate them very much !!!! Have a good one in the West of our beautiful country :o))

I remember working on this album at Brock Sound with Russ Walker in the mid 1970s. I was thinking at the time that it was very progressive - ahead of it's time. Of course this pre-dated MIDI, so everything was played LIVE off the floor, with overdubs. We recorded it on a Studer 16 track analogue tape deck with Dolby SR noise reduction, which is why it still sounds great to this day. I think I was using an API console at the time, which used to be in Eastern Sound's Studio B. It had a warm sound with it's discrete channel strips and API 550 equalizers. -a great tracking board.. I love Martin's CD artwork. RESPECT! -Brock Fricker - Brock Sound / Dreamscape Video

Mid 70's? Did work commence that early? The album was released 1982. Maybe early 80's is more accurate? :)
