Why is this not on Spotify 😮😮😮

This is an Alan Parsons Project album - there is no debate. The Project's branding is evident, starting with Woolfson's typical vocals on Freudiana, Dora, etc., the sound, and the instrumentals ("The Nirvana Principle; Beyond the Pleasure Principle, Freudiana") without forgetting Andrew Powell's orchestra strings. However, the album's coherence suffers from five weak tracks that undermine its logical sequence and sound too musical and sixties (Little Hans, Funny You Should Say That, Far Away From Home; Sects Therapy, No One Can Love You Better Than Me).

Fantastic Album, great artists. Even though I have been a fan since the late seventies I have never heard this before,

I accidentally heard a Song by Swift and thought ""what shallow Pop whining ". Already forgot the song, just a boring memory remained.

There I was just watching the usual scenery real nice, when all of a sudden just before 5:00 in I see something I never thought of! One girl was running a LEMONADE STAND! Just looked again, and YEP there she is, except I think its mostly bottled water, but I think I see a bag of apples and oranges, and a thermos, maybe coffee? And a couple of customers around their 2015 Chevette, nah, Toyota? SEE? These Aurora av girls are the BEST, and are very enterprising. Another thing I noticed is, at some of the places the girls hang out, there is very little litter, or at worst, litter's been put in trash bags. On the other hand, those homeless people make MORE LITTER PER CAPITA than any other demographic. I vote for making sex and love work legal, perhaps with a few regulations, and allow the ladies to work certain parts of town, and get the littering people away from these beautiful ladies.

"No one can love you better than me" and "Don't let the moment pass" sound like they could've been in the musical Chess.

I was a fan for the whole 10 albums they made up to 1887 (with a preference for "Vulture culture" that sustained me in a difficult moment in my life). But after Gaudi I didn't follow up, looks like I missed some great moments !

„Freudiana“ is my favorite song to play before I go out windsurfing. When I am on the water I sing it loud. It’s a hymn for me ❤.

I confess I had no idea about this album. What I like in the comments on KZfaq, in general, is that I get a piece of hope that things are not so shitty as they look (politics etc) and there are quite a few people who (still) appreciate good music.

Me gustaría compartir con ustedes una cosa que me imaginé tras escuchar varias de estas canciones. Me gustaría que Disney tomara mi idea para un especial de Halloween de Encanto (aquella película situada en Colombia), sobre todo después de que Pixar hizo un Toy Story de Terror bastante a la altura. En este caso, me imagino la siguiente historia (o borrador de historia): La familia Madrigal es invitada a unas vacaciones en una mansión que resulta ser una casa diseñada para volver locos a todos los que estén allí, y la forma en que lo hace es bajo magia negra hacer salir los aspectos negativos reprimidos de las personas que habiten allí y sacar a relucir sus traumas. El dueño de la mansión, vicealcalde de otro estado colombiano vecino, se apodera de la energía negativa extraída de la locura de las familias a las que invita a vacacionar. De esta manera, todos los Madrigal empiezan a volverse locos y a actuar de manera egocéntrica basados en sus traumas personales, mucho peor que antes. Todos, excepto Mirabel, que con su carácter fuerte y su alma bondadosa, es la única que nota que algo anda mal (a pesar de tener ciertos traumas que en ocasiones tiene que luchar para no dejarse manipular por imágenes que se los recuerdan). Una mezcla entre el País de las Maravillas, el País del Espejo, la mansión de Luigi's Mansion y quizás Gaslight, La Casa que te Vuelve Loco de las 12 Pruebas de Asterix y similares. Los miembros de la familia Madrigal cantan y discuten sobre como cada uno es el más importante de la familia y sobre como ningún otro es capaz de amar a los demás mejor que él, peleando por quién ama más a los demás que el otro en "No One Can Love You Better Than Me". Primero aparece la Abuela volviendo a su estado joven (voz de Marti Webb), quien afirma ser "la madre universal", volviendo a su trauma de tener que cuidar del milagro y del status social de la familia, luego Felix afirmando ser "el cabecilla de la familia", Camilo (voz de Eric Woolfson) afirmando ser el "orgullo de la familia", luego Isabela (voz de Kiki Dee) diciendo ser "la flor de la familia", estando al lado de Mariano (la persona con la que Abuela Alma quería hacerla casar) lo cual hace añicos el corazón de Dolores, quien gustaba de él y termina con él en la película. Pero sin embargo perciben que hay "una pared de silencio que se lleva el amor que sienten". Así que Mirabel se aleja de su familia y se pone a investigar, y las dos canciones que irían con su investigación serían: Primero, "Funny You Should Say That", donde ella busca y entrevista a distintas personas que se volvieron locas anteriormente, y trata de conectar los hilos a través de las pistas que va obteniendo (donde le dicen que nada es lo que parece). Luego, "Sects Therapy" (en la voz de Franckie Howerd) donde habla con otro pobre desgraciado que le cuenta la historia de como llegó hasta ahí y como intentó resolver sus problemas psicológicos y de pareja, llegando incluso a ir a un falso médico psicoanalista que le recomendaron los propios locos del lugar. El resto se los dejo a ustedes

The saxophone solos date this album a bit, but it's fantastic otherwise. It's a shame this album is practically unknown.

I thought i’ll give it a look, would it hurt or would it help? Freudiana, do you want to be somebody? Freudiana, do you want to change the world? I met the wolfman and the ratman, anna-o and little hans. They were walking on a tightrope, i never thought they had a chance. And then a hand reached out to hold them just before they tumbled down. But i was standing in a quicksand and i could not feel the ground. Freudiana, do you want to be somebody? Freudiana, do you want to change the world? I look back and try to find the part of me i don’t know. I won’t stop till i see the truth. there’s such a long way to go. I saw a picture of a stranger but i don’t understand. He had a ring around his finger and something burning in his hand. And i wanted him to teach me and i needed to believe. But the shadows that he threw me were intended to deceive. Freudiana, do you want to be somebody? Freudiana, do you want to change the world?

I was fortunate to find a new copy on CD back in 1998 in Orange Park, Florida. I love this album. The initial track has that classic APP feel and it's an instrumental. Not a bad song on the whole album. My personal favorite is Upper Me. I recently was able to acquire this classic album on Vinyl. Thank you for sharing this classic unheard of album.

This is fkn brilliant

I am lucky to own this record, since i bought it when it was first released. I bought it with no knowledge of what i was about to hear. It is simply a brilliant album that deserves to be heard, not only by Alan Parsons Project fans. I know that the late Eric Woolfson did release some other albums, i would like to get or hear. And even one with Alan Parsons, that to this day remains unreleased.

What a shame that Eric never lived to see this on the Broadway stage (played for 2 years in Vienna). I would treasure a revivification of the play!!!
