Isn't Taylor Swift trademarked, making this cause for a lawsuit? I'm a little confused on all of this #taylorswift
@HappinessishomemadeАй бұрын
According to my trademark lawyer, this is considered fair use. You can’t just put the name Taylor Swift alone on a shirt (or with her image, etc) because that implies that it is her own merchandise; however, saying you have her lyrics stuck in your head is not the same thing and would not likely be considered an infringement.

Do you think that different textures between the layers would work for students with low vision that are working on tactile & letter matching?
@Happinessishomemade2 ай бұрын
There are noticeable tactile differences between the materials (particularly between acrylic and wood), so I do think that might work for your needs.

Hello. I tried a sublimation print in a 95% poly / 5% rayon shirt and I ended up with scorch mark around. The heat guide said 390 F for 45 secs. I guess it was too hot. I will try. Lower temp next time but I guess it also has to do with thickness? The color was a light beige/mauve color
@Happinessishomemade3 ай бұрын
Rayon definitely has a tendency to scorch at high temperatures, so I usually lower the temp whenever it is involved (even in small amounts). I'd throw that shirt in the washing machine and see what happens - sometimes the scorching can be washed away if it's not too heavy!

I typically avoid using bleach on sublimation-printed garments, but it is possible. I would recommend heavily diluting the bleach and using non-chlorine bleach only.

What were the thickness in the last two patternply puzzles? Back, top and names?
@Happinessishomemade4 ай бұрын
All of the pieces were 1/8" thick, and the letters were doubled up to give them additional thickness. You could also opt to use 1/8" for the backing and topper and 1/4" for the letters. :)

What about sweatshirts?
@Happinessishomemade7 ай бұрын
Most sweatshirts will be a 50/50 blend - there are also some that have a higher in poly content, but they tend to have more of a silky, shiny finish that I don't personally care for. For the 50/50 blends, I like Jerzees NuBlend fleece crewnecks and hoodies, and for the higher poly count, check out the Augusta Sportswear hoodie on Amazon. :)

@Happinessishomemade7 ай бұрын
I like the Port & Co. tee as the most cotton-like option here. The Cricut brand t-shirts are also heavyweight, and while they don't feel entirely like cotton (more like a poly-cotton blend), they are really soft and comfortable.

18 months is such a hard size to find in actual t-shirts instead of bodysuits! Hi, how did you empty ink tank?
@Happinessishomemade11 ай бұрын
I started with a brand-new printer that had not previously been filled with ink. It is possible to flush the tanks if the printer has already been filled with standard ink, but it's a messy process, and the results can still be hit or miss. It's best to use a brand-new printer for sublimation.

Would I be able to print a water proof sticker decal using regular eco tank printer and adding it to the sublimated tumbler after this step? And then add epoxy to seal the decal?

You should be able to do that! Just make sure that the ink you use is actually waterproof so it doesn't run when you apply the epoxy. :)

Does it have to be the smart vinyle or will reqular permanent vinyle work? Also do you have to have the vinyle holder for longer cuts?

For long cuts, it has to be done with the Smart Vinyl because regular vinyl is not quite wide enough to work in the machine without a mat. You don't have to use the vinyl roll holder, it just makes it much easier! :)

Im not a fan of the infusible ink. Its more work and they dont come out very well. Too much money invested for shirts i had to turn into dish towels or dog bed stuffing. They all loose hazy and faded and there are very limed options . Its best to keep infusiable ink to mugs and costers. Oh and it does fade after washing. Even gental hand washing.

@jeangrandy8672 same. I think it's the brand. Cricut brand stuff isn't the best. I perfer the paper studio brand vinyls. I've also had better luck with Amazon for Infusible ink paper and printing them myself but just to much money involved just to make t-shirts. The profit isn't there.
