Finally a step by step video explaining things in detail. Thankyou! One thing I will ask did you need to prime the blockwork before applying the k rend? Could you scratch k rend the same day too if you put it on around 7am and scratched around 4pm?
@AnthonyParryPlastering
@AnthonyParryPlastering Ай бұрын
Thanks, no you don’t need to prime the blockwork if it’s new. If it’s been up a while I would put some primer on it, just to make sure. And yes I would actually recommend starting early and scratching earlier. I would also recommend using a iBar more, I’ve changed my method a bit lately. I’m gonna upload an updating version in the next couple of weeks. Hope this helps 👍

The render thats pebbledashed on the back back of my house is old and has come away where ive had new windows put in and also coming away around back door. A renderer told me it cant be fixed and said should take it all off and put new up. Dont think he actually check how much of it was hollow. Any advice? Cant afford the full job atm
@AnthonyParryPlastering
@AnthonyParryPlastering Ай бұрын
Honestly I would probably go with the advice of the renderer. Once the pebbledash has blown(goes hollow) it tends to keep going. The pebbledash will never look perfect when you patch it up. You might end up paying twice Best advice would be to get multiple plasterers/ renderers to have a look and take their advice. Hope that helps

I hwve just done this as a beginner on my own house. Lath and plaster walls. I blue grit the walls and then a coat of SBR. Im amazed at how much you were able to put on. I even had a retarder in my mix and i had to put a mesh up as soon as i had more than a metre of coverage. The mix in the bucket was still good, but once on the wall it was pulling in so fast. What am i doing wrong?
