I love this mix! Super clean transitions especially between genres. I'm curious about your setup though. I've heard there's often latency when using portable bluetooth speakers even when connected via aux. Is the speaker you're using just very low latency? Or its not bad enough to actually hinder mixing?

Hi Kevin! I haven’t checked- in in a while. I love how you continue to share. You really ROCKED that Prom. I lived in Cincinnati (Amberley Village). quite a few years ago. If you want to dip your toes into karaoke to see if there's a demand, i think this is a great idea. Small parties for friends and family. Charge em a few bucks, put out a tip jar and see what happens.

Tip 13 - Toastmasters. Definitely recommend it. Trains you out of crutch words, gives you huge confidence both as a speaker and how to write speeches. It is worldwide and $120 a year + local club fee

I own a Karaoke company in Nashville TN.. I own all my own music.. Yes, you're correct about the investment.. I have over 500,000 songs. Multiple versions of each as well so technically its double that. But I basically paid $1 per DL over the years. However, I will say. The thing that has kept me in business is the fact that I have ALOT of music most don't have with a sign-up service. Also with ASCAP BMI and SESAC all having offices right here in town, and if your not paying those live performance licensing fees you will be fined $100k per violation. Because your making money in a public space. So as a warning to anyone looking to do this. Make sure you pay the live performance licensing fees. Because if you have twenty five singers throughout the night and don't own the licensing on all twenty five songs and get caught.. That's 25 counts at $100k apiece. Ouch!

Hi Kevin great video, I have taken the plunge and bought a pair and parting away from my old big heavy passive speakers however, bare with me this is all new to me lol if i need more sound on a bigger event how can i add another Everse 12inch speaker to the Ev50m? My DJ mixer is DJM900NXS2. Can you add another 12inch speaker for more sound with the EV50m and also a booth speaker at the same time? If so, how would you go about setting this up? Thanks Kev!

I would use the mix out or line out from the EV’s into the additional speaker. That would be one simple way to do it.

You’re welcome! Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the mic holder I purchased is available anymore. I’ve actually done that before. I simply used my laptop to run the KaraFun app. Works the same as the iPad. You just need a way to plug the microphones in somewhere, like a mixer or perhaps the back of your speaker. But it should totally work fine with a computer instead of an iPad.
