@@kwahyttam Dw, my life is going very well atm. I've taken my own life into my hands, I still don't get why people pray to an entity that literally hasn't shown himself for over a thausand years or so. And talking about him like he's a loving father just doesn't sit right with me-

​@gertrashcan I'm glad to hear things are good for you. If you have good people around you, that goes a long way. Concerning God, we serve God of the bible, not because he gives us everything we want or fix all our problem, but because He is a badass father who makes our earthly fathers look like jerks in comparison. We believe that if He wasn't helping us be better people like Him, we would have hell on earth. But we see acts of kindness everywhere and it shows God's work through those who are his children. He isn't fixing all the problems b/c he wants us to try first. He fills in the gaps on occassion when Christians fail or are Christians in name only.

@@kwahyttam Atheist can show the same kindness that a Christian can show you. Same with every other religion. Empathy, kindness, morals themselves all boil down to simple logic. What happens if you walk up to a random guy and punch him in the face? You get a punch back. So logically, you don't punch him in the face. That's not God telling you to be kind, that's your brain telling you to not be an idiot. There are literal sharks who become peaceful towards a tiny fish that cleans their teeth. Could be seen as kindness, but in the end we all gain something from being kind. That's also why I never get how selfish people can exist, if you want everything for yourself, the best way to gain everything is to share and be kind. That way people are more willing to give you in return. God hasn't spoken to us himself, only through a book. Is it a good father that leaves you with a simple book where he writes 'be kind' and then he leaves to get milk?

Your points are factually true. No argument there, not just Christians are kind, other religions teach kindness as well. All Religion in general is about following a set of standards that go against our human nature (in most cases), even atheists. There is an important difference in what you believe, not just what you do. Everything you do is an outflow of your worldview and the person you are. You cannot rise above your own worldview. Why you do something, your motivations are the key to the subject of this video. For an atheist, they do everything because nature dictates it, to feed their own belly. A true Christian does it to please ultimately our God, even if it hurts us materialistically. Your claim that God wrote a book and left to get milk, have you read the Bible? If you have, and rejected it, good for you for reading it. But to criticize a God you don't believe in that you claim left and ignores us shows you don't understand what the Bible was teaching. Christians believe God resides in all Christians through the holy spirit. We believe he is here now redeeming all creation back to Himself actively now through His follows. I can understand why someone who has rejected that idea finds it underwhelming, but that is ultimately what this preacher is getting to in his message.

I do agree that some of the Christians that want to die are weird. But I don’t think the idea of having Hope after bodily death is really cultish. I’m willing to answer any questions.
