There's another video showing a women positioning the foot stay by hammering in a couple of slim nails behind the heel -- into the wood heel, so the toe projects a little bit over the front edge for that *look* you're looking for. Also, using painter's tape can help to hold things in place without leaving a sticky, goopy mess. No duct tape.

I have a pair of gorgeous DG high heel mules. I took them to the best cobbler in Dallas to tighten one of the straps, but now the shank is “floppy” and they are unwearable. Did he forget to put the shank back in? Can I send them to you to have a look. I’ve even gone to the best cobbler in NYC and they won’t touch them. If you could repair them, I would be forever grateful…right now I have $2000 USD that can only be used as art in my closet.

My eyelet kit only came with one side not the washer part. 😮
