Well done guys, you had a really nice discussion and a lot of good points were made with real expectations. I'm actually looking at the year after this season to be the point where we make some noise but I would be happy if they surprise me this year.

I was someone who was hoping a top/mid 6 berggren this season until the wings signs Tarasenko. I agree he wont make it this season unless of injuries, but even looking further it does not look like he will really get much of a shot to play on or be a top 6 forward for the wings

2.2 million for a 35 point guy next year is not bad and he is a centerman which was 49 percent on faceoffs last year which is also not bad. People just like to complain too much. Stevie could have went out and paid some of those free agents crazy money for long term and he didn't. Two years and either he blossoms or he is replaced by the youngsters coming up and let walk.

Im really confused by your evaluation of Gus. He and Ghost are exactly the same type of player. 3rd pairing, PP specialist. Gus is just a little better on defense and Ghost is a little better on offense. Also, one of Mo or Gus will be PP1 and could easily get the same points as Ghost last year.

What are you confused about? Everything you said is what we said, so we agree with you! Except ghost played more overall than Gus and Gus typically does not play on the right side. Ghost majority of the season was the 2nd pair RHD

I believe this team will be better than last year, even if the standings improve by only a couple points. Less goals going in our net will be helpful, but hopfeully they can put up as many as they did last season

My theory for why Yzerman traded Walman so quickly is, that Yzerman knew how difficult and expensive it would get throughout the offseason to clear Capspace. So he traded Walman as fast as he could (easiest to trade, no core part of the Wings - Justin Holl would have been at least a 1st round pick to trade). And in order to get at least the chance to sign a big fish in Free Agency, Yzerman did what he thought he had to do.

First of all the GM that signed Jacob Trouba to the Rangers is Jeff Gorton . He is no longer with the team so doesn't make sense. 2) Yzerman made it clear the cost of dumping a salary was a 2nd round pick .that is just what the market was . So a couple days later St Louis dumped Kevin Hayes to the Penguins - guess what that cost - a 2nd round pick !! - amazing . I have no idea where Wallman became the 2nd coming of Bobby Orr - I missed that - he was a good 3rd pair defenseman on a good team . He obviously fell far out of favor with either Red wings GM or coach or both .

Great episode boys! Out of the 3 I think Danielson makes it first but once they sign Raymond veleno and Bergy that’s 12 forwards and I doubt they make Danielson Mazur or Kasper the 12th or 13th forward on the team

Danielson has the frame, skillset, and maturity to play on the 3rd line rn and learn from guys like kane, senkshow, larkin, etc. kasper makes an argument, but i think he needs a be a top performer in GRG another season. idk. the wings always do things slow and weird

Don’t like the old man’s club in Detroit. They have Prospects who should be on the team and they are always being blocked by 30+ year olds and don’t get a chance to show their true game with better players. So tired of these FA signings that are not even going to get the team to the playoffs. Defense needs more better players and these kids are playing in men’s leagues overseas and come to Detroit to play another couple to 3 years in the AHL and they will not learn the NHL down in the AHL. This is SY who doesn’t believe in his first round picks but he should be seeing what they are actually able to do with good players and not A Fourth line playing limited minutes. Kasper played one game and finished the game with a broken Knee cap. SY is a hypocrite who said that Kasper was NHL ready but he is not playing him as of now. I think he had a bad start because of his knee injury and then got up to speed.

There is a spot or two open on the roster if Kasper, Mazur or Danielson can beat out someone like Fischer or Motte If they cannot beat out 4th liners like Fischer or Motte, why should they be in the lineup?

So you basically want us to look like the Montreal Canadians or the Buffalo Sabres??.. you will feel comfortable with that .. comfortable with 90% of your roster being young guys and having them develop like that without improving the team??.. So in sports with helping the development of the younger guys you want to sprinkle veterans around them as their developing... This here works as on ice coaches for the younger players in prospects to be able to learn from.. every good team in KNOWING what they're doing uses this method.. HELL, even the Pistons are finally getting on board and I'm about to use this method.. (THANK GOD!🙏) .. You don't build a team by having all young guys on the team.. you basically then we'll just have a college team getting slaughtered every game then you'll end up having your players refrain to players like Filip Zadina .. a player who had high hopes and even confidence in themselves to now trying to find their way because they didn't stay in the AHL long enough.. I believe they brought Zadina up a season or 2 too early.. EVEN HE SAID IT .. now he has confidence issues.. Steve Yzerman knows what he's doing.. and he's a lot smarter than us FANS..😅 Let the man cook!!.. Listen, anytime you have any doubts about Steve advise me just take a look at the Tampa Bay Lightning.. he's pretty much responsible for the uprise of them.. Kasper, will be uo when the time is right.. he's close though.. Understand the process in order to get behind it.. these things do take time.. It is a order of conduct and if you fall outside of the process it will come apart..
