Chlorella is better and has the active form of B12. Also, a new type of water plant will be soon taking over the scene called "Duckweed!"supposedly it's going to be better than spirulina and chlorella! And it has more protein! Get ready for it.

I found the key why my stomach is bloated. When I eat smoothies and liquid based soups, my stomach is not bloated. I quess my stomach is working slowly.

Coating your food with olive oil makes it much harder for the gut to extract the nutrients in the food. Your stomach will tell you this if you watch how you feel after eating a salad covered in olive oil. Then tomorrow, eat a similar salad without the olive oil and see how much happier your stomach is.

For reducing hair fall, eat a balanced diet rich in protein. Use a mild shampoo for your scalp. I changed my shampoo, hair conditioner and hair oil to litttllextra cocconniioon a year ago, and it has reduced my hair fall.

I turn 63 in a couple of weeks and I’ve been WFPB for 8 yrs now, 7 of those No Oil. I think, from what I’ve read, I am doing what’s best for my body. But I just watched a video interview with Dr Georgia Ede on the Dr Rangan Chatterjee channel about the most harmful foods for your brain and gave scientific evidence. Among those harmful foods she lists beans and legumes and all the high carbohydrate foods I eat. She seems knowledgeable and legitimate. Her recommendations run counter to what I am eating. Help. How do I make sense of that information if it’s true?

Thanks Dr K. I was vegan WFPB (including soy products) slim and healthy for 15 years before going through menopause. I had a horrible time when I went into perimenopause, with hot flushes and night sweats, insomnia, anxiety, brain fog, weight gain (particularly belly fat) and joint issues. The hot flashes and night sweats went away after a few years, but all the other symptoms have stayed. I hear a lot about how to deal with hot flashes, but doctors don't seem to acknowledge any of the other symptoms., which i have found so debilitating that I've started HRT. Supplementing the missing hormones has given me back my life. I'm not back to what I was like before menopause, but I am still able to work and participate in life again. My understanding is that just about every organ in our bodies have receptors for estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Because humans take such a long time to rear their young, women stop producing these hormones years before they die, so they don't leave defenseless offspring, and nowadays we are living even longer. Although menopause is a natural part of a woman's life, it is not something that happens for our benefit and it can be a very detrimental shift in a woman's health and wellbeing. Please could you cover menopause in more depth, including all the other symptoms (which can be far worse than hot flashes) and HRT.

very valuable info! Thank you for sharing. We are plant based eaters and as we get older we find we are absorbing fewer nutrients thru our plant based diets. It was recommended we take omega 3 supplements so I was very interested in your experience and I value your opinion.

What an attitude, very unprofessional. Women can squeeze out huge babys. People though lots of pain squeeze out huge stones considering the size of the opening, kidney stones. God mad our bodies to do amazing things with the right tools. The cleanse gave me years of pain free time. I had been diagnosed with fatty liver also, by ultrasound. Later after the cleanse, had another scan, no sign of fatty liver disease.

Worked for me, was having pain, I felt my gallbladder release. So if you have small stones or just thick bile. The fast worked. Surely it will not resolve large stone issues. So no matter what you say I haven't had an issue for years.

1:45 but men also make estrogen and women also make testosterone. Klapper is down playing things because he doesn't quite grok it all. Activity levels, sunlight and stress and sleep - that's the other factors all heavily tied into the cholesterol numbers. High cholesterol is a sign of failing endocrine system - the causes are not only dietary it seems. There are people eating cholesterol who have lower cholesterol numbers. What's up with that ? Our hormone production is barely studied and widely misunderstood by doctors (plant based or otherwise) but also from what I have seen by the body builders as well. The only group which sort of understands natural hormone health are the nootropics folks... and they also recommend a WFPB diet more often than runners, or body builders or doctors it would seem...

I do wonder why the advice, prior to a colonoscopy, is to eat a low fiber dieet to clean up the colon? That suggests a low fiber dieet has a quicker transit time, contrary to the answer in this video.

I use organic cacao powder and put it in my breakfast porridge once a week. I know it has beneficial properties so I have it in the unsweetened form. If not I am not too much a fan of chocolate.

This is so helpful. I've been vegan for 4.5 years, and my cholesterol has been 240-265 most of that time. It's finally under 195, but I've fretted about it a lot, because I don't want to take a statin unless I fail to bring it down with diet. I wish I knew what inflammatory markers I could ask to include in blood panels to verify that those aren't elevated. (Not sure what brought it down. Possibly eating frozen amla slices instead of powder?)

I like sticking to the bible principle. No breakfast, unless I drop underweight then I have a small one. No cooked lunch easy salad or soup , then a main meal at supper.
