The silverback is has several destroyed and severed fingers and recent major wounds to his left hand and his right wrist. And some people think the males have such pronounced canine teeth for some type of food they eat.

You don't know why the mother moved her cubs, there could have been a male nearby that was going to kill the cubs (this often happens to jaguar cubs). This is an experienced mom who has been observed for 11 years and has successfully raised at least 6 prior cubs.

The cubs did survive the trip across though appear to have been killed several months later by a male jaguar.

The mom, Patricia, was last seen with her cubs Nauru and Yanomami in early October. Then she was seen mating with other males. Sometimes a female jaguar will do this so that the male leaves her cubs alone. But it could also mean than the cubs were killed. One can hope it is the former.

Not for that environment. They are perfect for a place with endless food.
@coachafella4 ай бұрын
@@gregsutton2400 Apart from some very special cases, like tardigrades perhaps, an endless supply of food is essential for nearly all life. Probably obvious, but I was more implying that it's not at all clear that evolution accomplished anything better by devising us. Of course it has no plan or intention, but you get my point.
@gregsutton24004 ай бұрын
@@coachafella I do not. They were unable to leave that environment they evolved to exploit. And its primary characteristic is endless food perfect for them. That situation ends in every direction they would travel. Any gorillas that left the range they are currently in would die out or evolve to something that does not need a constant 30 kg of food to survive. Do you understand the relationship between evolution(that I was commenting on) and environment. If you do not I can say it slower for you.
@coachafella4 ай бұрын
@@gregsutton2400 Yeah, you do not. And just take a look at what we are doing to ourselves. Condescending twit.
