My company has 2 of these engines (2019 & 2020) on 1648 g3 and a friend has one on a 15 ft v hull fiberglass boat. All three engines have a inconsistent skip at wide open throttle. With a three man load or a two man load with lots of work equipment there is no way we are turning too many rpms, and besides when an engine hits its rpm limiter the engine "skip" is consistent, Yamaha simple put a larger prop on them which greatly reduced the hole shot, almost to the point that a three man load barely will plane off. Anyone else having these problems, The engines run great but the electric start models we have do not have a rope start backup which really is a issue when the work boat battery is dead. Because of this I choose to purchase a 20 hp Suzuki electric start, at 107 lbs its doing a great job on my 1448 g3.
