I love the brilliant shape of the hand; and I fondly love his hands that breathe the breath of life into the music through all the mechanisms of a machine; giving it an ability to sing with a full range of human emotion and response to the mystical reality of the human soul. This instrument brings to life that which only music can give; thank you for sharing.

Barely any tunes of this genre are ever played on any church organs at all. If I were to become an organist I wouldn't only play music that was written FOR organs. I'd play whatever the goddamn hell I want to, religious music or not. Organs are meant to be played for goodness sake, it's not like there's anything in the keyboards which disable them if one were to play anything that isn't religious or written for organs or anything like that. Why else do they have keyboards? I'd 100% play a few Glenn Miller tunes on this and generally any organ I'd want to play if I could.

This might be one of the best recordings of one of the best organs in the world. The audio quality is amazing and the instrument sounds PHENOMENAL.

Great performance by a virtuose. Just a little word : too too much fast, not « possible » to play like that in France ☺️

Fabulous. Thanks Jean-Paul! Brings back many fond memories of learning to play at Lancing as a boy. The little Frobenius that Jean-Paul is playing is a masterpiece. The Walker does look fantastic though.. up on its perch! Note the 1/2 second delay (around) when playing the Walker remotely. I always found that very difficult to cope with!

Sorry but too speedy for me. Takes 6 min instead of 5 normally.

Stimply stunning and stupendous! Although supposedly Widor himself opposed to such a tempo for his famous Toccata, it works amazingly well, once one hears the overwhelming effect, of course provided it is played with such meticulous articulation as displayed here by Wayne ... Also, this is the first time that I see the cross-handed passage shortly before the end played on one manual instead of two ... All the more praise to you Wayne!

Jake, I meant also to thank you for the wonderful recording! You capture the awesome reverberation of the Cathedral with great precision. Which really captures Wayne's Performance and technigue. I have been really disappointed with so many recordings, That have been recorded very close to the organ; rather than using the acoustics to enhance the recording. Once again thank you for your artistry. John Lofthouse.

Dear John - thank you for your words of kindness. I am glad you appreciated the recording. It did rather work out well! I am currently recording with Jean-Baptiste Monnot on a very famous Cavaillé-Coll - that of St Ouen! So hopefully it will be out in the next few months. Kind regards Jake

From memory while he surveys the workings of his instrument. Perfect performance, beautiful phrasing, this is one of the best, the most expressive renditions of this monumental piece I had heard. Even Mssr Dubois, does not exceed the passion of this piece. This organist does not rock, weave, bob about. He siply pour forth the music, real music as only a professional can do. The does not read the little flyspecs on the paper - He plays the music from his soul. Magnificent. Wonderful.

Jake, thank you for yet another superb recording of Wayne Marshall at the organ. As I said regarding his recording of Widors tocatta, scintillating! This organ and the acoustic's of the Cathedral are superb. Thanks again. John Lofthouse.
