The goofiest thing that I've seen in 1.0 that had me laughing was how the character runs up a ladder while looking up. It basically folds the player's character into a U shape and they sprint full f'ing speed up the ladder. It's goofier than it used to be. Edit: other things that I noted - zombies are sponges, animal spawns are reduced, bears spawn like crazy in the winter biome, eggs seem to drop more often now, progression can slow to a fatman's crawl if you are the type to be a little slow in applying skill points, I'm ok with the armor system but it's not ideal, the pipe baton is still a soft wet turd, and there's been a weird thing with ladders where the two block thing can sometimes not work for players jumping to the ladder even when there's a ramp to it. This could be due to controller support as the guy I'm gaming with plays with a controller and he's the one who's had the issue with ladders. I solved the issue by placing one ladder on the ground, leaving one block empty, and then placing ladders above that. Just run up to it and the character climbs. Haven't seen a zombie go for it at all yet.

My own quick thought on the health adjustments the zombies got. I actually think it feels okay for the standard zombies and their feral and rad states. Dear lord the feral and rad tougher tier zombies feel obnoxiously spongy. The specials could be rolled back about 25%

part 2: The main difference between TFP and at least most EA games, is that 7 Days to Die was released in EA essentially at the very start of their development. Many EA game are released in a much later stage where most features have been established, the scope has been defined and where they are much closer to the finishing stage. And depending on scope, talent and staff. Its not uncommon for games to take between 5 to 10 years to develop. So the only reason why players feel like its taking forever is because we got to experience it from the almost very beginning instead of late stage development.

water is still very easy to obtain. Do some toilet looting, boil it and you get clean water. Do some quests and you can buy water. Dew collector is a nice touch and adds to some level of immersion but right now its not even needed really. I think the change in the release will make it more interesting. I personally liked the change as the empty jars became annoyance in my inventory in the past. Didn't make it harder just different. One thing that I wish that they addressed is the abundance issue with certain items. I play standard settings and I'm literally swimming in ammo. No need to craft ammo. Quest early on gives you way more ammo than it should, end of POI's has tons of it and there's no real struggle to conserve ammo. I kind of wish you could adjust certain types of loot. Like weapons and ammo be its own setting, natural resources, food etc. You could adjust your game more as I still want resources in good amount from trees and stone, but I don't wanna swim in tools, weapons and ammo. Finding a tier 6 item should be like hitting the jackpot on a lottery ticket. Dunno what their plans are for that but I sure hope that is addressed. The vision for the game compared to the learn by doing system, didn't quite fit. I loved that system as well, to a degree. I however agree that it's silly to spam craft stone axes and run into a cactus just to gain skill. Learn by doing is a lot more delicate balance than it seems. I would categorise the skills into two. You have active skills and you have passive skills. Active skills are those that you would use on a regular basis. Like using a pistol, or a machete as you defend yourself. Passive skills are things like cooking food, crafting equipment's or health items. Passive skills are hard to keep on par with the active skills and you end up lagging behind these and ultimately you are encouraged to waste time sitting and spam craft just to keep that skill up. I believe Valheim is a good example of learn by doing done well. Only skills to worry about are the active skills. You unlock new crafting things in a different way. For 7 Days to Die, Active skills could be the few ones that are related to common actions, while the rest is based on perks. Things like armor should be more based on equipment than any skill. However I think the way they designed the game made it hard to go to such a system this late into development. So I would think the compromise was to create the magazines to bring players some level learn by doing. Not perfect but better than being forced to place skills in a particular way. And since its a looter game it becomes a sort of active skill gain. I'm incline to agree somewhat with TFP on the attachment to certain systems. Learn by doing was kind of flawed and it didn't go with their vision or performed to the level as was expected. I agree that they could have come up with a much better system than currently but the old one was in need of change. And while I don't think the current system is the best one out there, I don't think it's horrible either. Had they not released into EA so early as they did in their development, perhaps Players wouldn't have felt as robbed of that system as they did. Alpha means that anything can change. Either in minor ways or drastically, depending on what will work in the grand scheme of things. I personally have TFP being bare and honest than them using a PR guy hiding their humanity behind manipulative words. I personally didn't think it was all that bad how they responded, cause I've seen many comments and discussions and its often a lot of bashing with emotional reaction than constructive criticism. I bet its towards those people and not at the player-base as a whole. at least how I interpret it all.

Yeah same here, even tho i don't mind a system where you get better by doing the same thing, it is far better to go to a POI loot, dismantle and fight, than wasting a day doing a repetitive task over and over again in the same order,

no bring back jars. find a trader, do a couple quests and make a fake dumb idea "dew collector" that no sane person irl would make to get 3 clean waters a day ( until next patch where its dirty water. why.). 2 collectors. 6 waters . thanks for the space consuming water farm that has you on a timer to return to your base. no exploring i guess., you gotta water farm. i prefer playing without a base, cant do that anymore bc the water farm is unmovable and time based. its 100% stupid and unrealistic . and plain unfun or a bad "struggle" bc it isnt even a struggle . by day 10, you should have like 5. or they change how spawn and you always have dysentery.
@FlashySenap
@FlashySenap 2 ай бұрын
Hmmmm... I essentially play a nomad for a big portion of the gameplay. I find water in abundance. Either from questing or final loot boxes. In a realistic scenario, you have to look for fresh water, often boil it to remove bacteria and parasites, Dew collectors is not uncommon in survival perspective. Consider that the world has experienced a nuclear explosion, zombies everywhere. Water would be a real resource you would have to work for. In fact that's one of the first rule of survival. But realism and game realism isn't the same thing but I find water to be quite easy to obtain. You even have the filtration device for your helmet to allow for drinking murky water safely.

hey love the stream waiting for the update almost time I've been to research just want to give a heads up about there is a difference between resident and occupant they have to different meanings resident in short is someone in a area mainly for Business in short that's what it means. An occupant in short is someone who moved into a home long-term basically with a lease likely to living and mainly homesteading in one area.
