Sailed on The Royal Irish many many times form Liverpool to New Brighton and also occasionally to Secombe. She was the flagship of the fleet. I have never seen the tide flow over her decks like on this video. A very sad sight, and a fantastic video. Thank you.

The only thing they got was the shopping centre from the 1965 plans then. Also working there in the 70's it was dead as all the shoppers went to Luton Arndale when it opened.

It was terrible what was done to that village, and how it was done, English mp's riding roughshod over the opinions of the local people. Was there an alternative to it that wouldn't cause such bad feeling . I'm a Liverpool lad but a regular in n Wales, walking over the hills there. Beautiful place and decent people from what I've seen.

I love the Pirates, a really great band. Love the songs of their own as well, in addition to the covers. That's the Way You Are, Don't Munchen It, You Don´t Own Me, Gibson Martin Fender, etc. Green is such a versatile guitar player in his musical style. He can go from the most primal sounds to the more elaborate ones. I'm not surprised Paul McCartney picked him up to play and make the more aggressive guitar sounds of his album, together with David Gilmour, who played the more melodic ones.
