If you live outside Canada or the USA don’t bother signing up for the email. I would have bought the supplements suggested but they don’t ship outside of those two countries. I’m pretty furious my hopes were elevated and then dashed. Due to go on Ozempic next week and was looking around for an alternative. Found it - but it don’t ship.

Hi, there! International shipping for supplements can be tricky but some people use a re-shipping service to get their supplements from Fullscript delivered. Here's an option if you're interested: www.shippn.com/en/home

Dr Kate, I’m in counseling for CPTSD, have Sjogren’s, Chari I Malformation (brain herniated again after decompression, too dangerous for another surgery), and was recently diagnosed with VLS and EGLS. My vagus nerve has been under attack since birth. I’m trying out myofascial massage tomorrow in an effort to release what’s stuck. Any suggestions how to get my vagus nerve in check with constant pressure on my cervical spinal cord? Thanks.

How do PPI meds affect the vagus nerve?
@DrKateLyzengaDean20 сағат бұрын
In many ways! They alter the pH of the stomach, which changes your ability to digest and absorb foods, which changes the microbiome in your gut which feeds back to your brain via the vagus nerve (that's just one way). Long-term PPI use has lots of potentially problematic consequences.

It could be, indirectly! Typically I associate xanthelasma with insulin resistance, which can be linked to thyroid function

I haven't tried this and am struggling with trying to lose belly fat . 5' tall, age 72, waist 38", hips 34" bust 41" , weight 127 lbs. I shoot for 120 grams protein each day, 10 g. or less of carbs per day , and fat from butter, meat and eggs. I've been stuck here for over 1 year. Walk and strength train at the gym 2 times per week on average. Praying that this will produce some positive results. My HRV, tracked with Fitbit watch, runs between 34 and 55 milliseconds, the nights I don't sleep well it can be considerably lower.

I thought if you had abnormally high cortisol it means you have a medical thing going on?
@DrKateLyzengaDean4 күн бұрын
It's a matter of how high - really really really high cortisol can be a sign of Cushing syndrome or other underlying issues. But some of the time it's related to chronic stressors.
@zelahfines65354 күн бұрын
@@DrKateLyzengaDean interesting. I have high cortisol- it’s not very very high but it is abnormally high. I understand it would be high when you are actively stressed, but if you are stressed in general but relaxing at the time, shouldn’t it still be within normal? Mine has been high for at least 2 years and accompanied by other symptoms. Though not typical Cushings. It annoys me when it’s blamed on stress and anxiety because I feel it’s really a physical thing happening TO me if you know what I mean. Just confused about the whole thing.

This is spot on for me. I am a 58 year old guy but started feeling fatigued and more anxious last Fall and it got really bad during the holidays especially in regards to sleep. My CBC results were in the mid normal but I paid to get a vitamin B test and it included an iron panel and everything was low normal but Ferritin of 25 ug/ml and B12 of 1483. I started taking 20mg Heme iron every morning with 2mg copper for cerruloplasmin. I have low stomach acid that I treat with Betaine HCL and Apple Cider vinegar plus I was taking a tom of Zinc since COVID started. My theory was that the Zinc was blocking iron and copper absorption plus low stomach acid also contributed to be not getting minerals from foods. I also started taking liquid ionic minerals (magnesium, copper, zinc, and calcium) too. This week my B12 was around 800 and my Ferritin was 61 ug/ml. I have more energy and my sleep and anxiety are better. My hair thinned alot and it has stopped shedding as much. My target is 100 ug/ml and hopefully my hair will start regrowing. The low ferritin definitely caused me to become hypothyroidal.
@DrKateLyzengaDean4 күн бұрын
Ferritin plays such a big role in thyroid health! Glad you were able to get things sorted out!
