This should be standard repertoire for harp concertos, yet this may be only the second recording.

It doesn't help when the publisher doesn't make a solo part available. I had to buy a pocket score.

There's no reason for playing all flat chords in the opening. It's not tradition, even for "modern" music.

Why does Schnittke's website list this piece as having been composed in 1971 if the film was actually released in 1970?

The very first classical music concert i ever went to was at Carniegy Hall in 1973. This was the the first work on the program. I had never heard anything like it. I was 19yo and vompletely enamoured with this piece. I kept that program for years looking for a commercial trcording of it. To me then it was yhe greatest thing since sliced bread. Now in 69,yo. Its still good and a mazing how actually tonal it is. I've come a long way since then. I've graduated on to the symphonies of Honegger and string Quartets which were so wild ehen i first heard them but are now enjoyably notmal musical language for me . Thank you You Tube for posting Horace Victorioux to allow me to telive 50 years ago but with mature ears of a man compared to the boy i was.

For a 1940 Symphony it's an anachronism but damn, it works so well. Something about melody that will never go out of style. Most pleasing !

Шнитке- интересен и актуален всегда,но интерес в изложении,тембре или понимании будущего этого произведения? Или во владении без цезур?

By all means, blame the "untutored" when some people don't like your music.
