Christen Cole was a dummy - - no doubt but the biggest dummy here is Viserys . He never truly acknowledged how his hand (Otto) never once respected or would honor his heir. He was scared of Daemon and thought Rhaneyah would be easier to usurp. His plan was in action before Viserys wife died when Otto was able to get Viserys to remove Daemon has heir and ban him from King's Landing. Otto is playing the longest con here and he had no greater victim than Viserys who then made decision after decision to secure a war and the deaths of his own children and people. Yeah, Viserys was the original dummy.

People that dislike Cole are the same people who close their eyes when it comes to Daemon. I know who is more honourable. Cole >

I don't hate Criston Cole, and I don't even think he's necessarily stupid (in over his head as Hand though). Criston came across as more unhinged, such as when he killed the council member (that's not his job as King's Guard) and Laenor's lover during the wedding. While Daemon can also be a loose cannon, he comes across as more calculating.
@jacobrose34288 күн бұрын
@@philhelm1318 no one remembers how Daemon murdered his wife!!
@batminion62978 күн бұрын
@jacobrose3428 that was a calculated move. Nobody's calling Daemon a Saint but he's certainly more in control of his emotions than Cole.

It's not the same. I think folks don't like Criston's hypocrisy. He hates Rhaenyra because of a choice they both made, and all these years later, he's involved in a similar taboo relationship with Alicent. So, what is there for him to really be mad about? The wh--- of Dragonstone comment made me chuckle a little bit; I'm not gonna lie! I don't know if it's bad writing though. It's not just women who have those _why did I do that_ moments _with that person._ It's just sort of _silly_ to me that Criston is harboring all that hatred for Rhaenyra all these years later. It just seems like Criston is always on the wrong side of things. He killed Lord Beesbury, which might lose the Greens the reach, his overreaction at Rhaenyra's wedding killing Laenor's lover, the hypocrisy of his relationship with Alicent. No one mention's it, but both Rhaenyra and Alicent have aborted his bastards.... Maybe you're not a spiritualist, but that to me, is a cursed lineage; that's the purist insight into who Criston Cole is as a man. How do you consider such a man noble?... He can't be faulted for what happened at Rook's Rest... but I mean... he can't be compared to Daemon... Daemon doesn't catch L's left right and center like Criston Cole does...
@LastActionNgro8 күн бұрын
Daemon would be better compared to Aemond, as they are archetypally the same. I personally don't understand how folks can love Daemon and hate Aemond... Criston Cole can't be compared to either. There's a brashness to both Aemond and Daemon, but a little bit of nobility in both. The writers say something of Daemon to the effect that he's a villain and hero in equal measures... That is why I think people like him; hes complex. _He's not motivated by resentment at the woman _*_he chose_*_ to lose his virginity to..._ And for me again, Aemond and Daemon are mirrors of each other. That is alluded to in Daemon's vision's in Harrenhall where he sees himself walking the halls in the garb of Aemond. Criston Cole can't even take accountability for choosing to lose his own virginity lmao!

Criston Cole is arguably one of the most disliked character in all of House of the Dragon. And last week's episode just solidified that. No hate to Fabian Frankel - he's doing an amazing job.

Also back in the day people would use very few names, especially if you weren't educated, you wouldn't be exposed to many names, just family, a few friends and a few famous people and whoever is in stories or talked about at church, so people wouldn't know many names to use, at one time in Europe like 4 big kingdoms all had leaders with the same name... Even nobility didn't use many different names, I mean present day 10% of the population is still naming their sons Michael, I have like close to 100 contacts in my phone named Michael/mike haha
@maxgodspeed23 күн бұрын
I wouldn't name my kid aegon if I was a targaryen closer to GOT times, clearly it's like bad luck to name them that most them don't make it adulthood and only 1 was decent king besides the conquerer, so it seems unlikely they'll be leaders and good leaders at that hah

Acolyte feels like people using the IP to hire their buddies and having fun making something without a lot of expert direction. Doesn't help that ridiculous politics get looped into it all. The advantage of animation is that it HAS to be heavily drafted and planned, so if it fails, it's because a huge team committed to wasting their project.
