I still find it so so sad. he should never have been racing on that ridiculously unsafe track that day, he should have been at Brands Hatch for a much more significant race, back in the UK for the first time that year and surrounded by his friends and home fans.

What I found interesting was how Chapman was sort of bashing American Business and then the next scene that talks about his favorite hobby and the advantages of flying he jumps into a American built and owned company, Cessna! So why not a British aircraft company Mr Chapman?

Funny, Colin Chapman is a bad man for dealing with DeLorean while the 6th Keating named John McLame was allowed to run for President.

I'm a car guy, I dont worship these public figures like too many sad people do. Only reason i clicked on this is because it popped up in my feed and I had to comment on how boring and stupid these click baity idiotic videos are. Ad blocker is the best for dumb crap like this.

Hi Henk, Als de Cupracers op stoom zijn kan er 1:53 op de stopwatch komen! En dat redt een A110 niet 😂 Er voorbij rijden is leuk maar niet voor het filmpje 😅 Groet, Jan

He had many strengths and many weaknesses . His relationhip with people was often a problem which hindered his financial prospects. He was an inovative designed often relianing on chance which resulted in a good concept with a flawed results. He was a great characted much missed

Allegedly apparently, even the early Lotus 7's were total death traps, and that was (good luck!) the general public.

No one ever mentions that Jim and Colin's relationship had reduced due to Jim's concern about the safety of Lotus cars and Jim told friends and family that he would leave Lotus at the end of '68. I was told by a member of the family that Ken Tyrrell and Jim were having discussions. My family and the Clark family were friends as fellow Borders farmers. We will never know how how that would have panned out. But I believe Jim would have been in a different team in '69.

In he quest for lightness he built race cars that were death traps to their drivers. He cared more about the weight of the car than the life of the driver. A great engineer, but not a great human being

In the end, all geniuses are still human. History has already told us that genius does not equal sainthood, and even elementary school students understand this. He made the greatest contribution to the history of F-1. This is a fact that will continue to be engraved in history. Also, if this rumor is true, it just means that he was just a normal human being.

Chapman was a big part of the movement that woke Grand Prix racing up. Other contributors were Cooper, Brabham, Lola and McLaren

Arnold constantly says 'we' as if he and Chapman were partners. He's a historian for crying out loud, and had nothing to do with building Lotus cars.

He was very full of himself, a typical car salesman type who later ran Club Lotus which briefly strengthened his position & authority over all things historical regarding Lotus cars.
