"looking better than a body has a right to". 20 years later and the entire audience would be singing along with her.

The beginning of superstardom. It's as if she knew, when she smiled and sang "and here I go!". Such a shrewd businesswoman, knowing her "brand" decades before people starting using that term. She had to crossover to pop to light the match, so to speak! Well played, Dolly. Well played.

Hi! How are you? Please, but I would really like to know where you found these excerpts taken from the DOLLY TV show? Well, I've been trying to find the complete episode 5 for years. Do you own this episode? I want to purchase it!

@matt27santos Hi, there! I’m great! How are you? I’m sorry, I unfortunately do not have the complete episodes. I just have these clips archived. I too am trying to collect her Variety Show footage from the one in Nashville from 1976-77, and the one in Cali (this one) from 1987-88. Do you have any complete episodes/footage/info? I too would like some info or to purchase some.

First time I heard Dolly Parton was in 1978, 12 years old. She performed, LIVE, on a Danish TeeVee-show, just Dolly and her guitar. Besides "Coat of many colours", we got "Jolene", on 33, 45, and 78 RPM. Followed by an interview, and MAN!! Dolly is just an amazing woman, isn't she??

Dolly did not win entertainer of the year in 1977. Ronnie Milsap won. But flash forward to 2024, Dolly's song is the one most remembered.

Amazing how Dolly’s resonance blends so well with Patti’s huge voice.
@ry-laxingwithrrelaxingsoun76057 ай бұрын
Amazing! Aren't they? We all know The Vocal Goddess which is Miss Patti Labelle. But the Mariah Carey of Country Music- Dolly Parton is slept on as a vocalist. Dolly's voice (minus the whistle register) is very much closely resembling Mariah's. They are both light-bright, coloratura, lyric sopranos, with siren-like resonance in the lower fifth octave- all amazingly tension-free and with ease. They both have lightning-fast agility, with unmatched precision on vocal runs. Dolly is such an underrated vocal queen! These are all legends, in their own rights! ❤

Glad you loved it! Unfortunately, I do not have Miss Loretta's solo performances from Dolly! (1987) yet. I will definitely be digging up some more videos of these legends! In the meantime, I have another performance of the two of them right here- if you would like to see it: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Zt96Z7mD27OUqWw.htmlsi=uQx2wcgVCZe46hEV:. Cheers!
