For Illustrator, people often use "canvas" and "artboard" interchangeably. It's a common mistake. They are two very different things, so the title of this video is misleading (unintentionally, I'm sure).

Unfortunately, most of the other programs you mentioned don't support score lines made outside of their native programs. So, users would need to add them in on their own. That's why I would recommend including a version without score lines in your design file package if you are creating 3D projects that you plan to share with others. :)

This helped so much! I had to use illustrator and photoshop to get a gradient and bubble effect for a sticker for a cosplay prop. It kept uploading to Cricut Design Space with a black box over it. It was making me so mad! This helped so much so thank you!!!

Adorable project. You make it look so easy. Question, how long, in real time, did it take you to complete this project? Your instructions are very clear and will help me immensely to put this together. I was thinking of making the base big enough to have the drawer hold a mini album. What do you think? Any tips on doing this? Something that I need to watch out for?

I'm glad you like it! I can't remember for sure, but this project likely took about a 30 min- 1 hour to cut out the pieces, and somewhere in the ballpark of 2-3 hours to assemble. Of course, if you want to add extra details (inking, personalized embellishments, etc.) then it can take much longer. And you could definitely look at making the base larger in order to hold something more substantial inside! I think that is a fun idea. Just be sure that you either have larger paper on hand to accommodate this, and that you keep the pink interior cut lines in the same place so that the tabs on the base of the sewing machine still line up like they are supposed to. :)

I haven't tested this technique with a laser cutter machine, but it should work in theory (depending on the material you are using)!

I have my layers grouped, but that is mostly for convenience. If you are exporting to a PNG then it doesn't matter if your layers are separate or grouped. They will all be flattened together upon exporting. :)

Finally! Someone who understands Illustrator and can make the bridge between Cricut and Illustrator. Thank you so much for "starting at the beginning" and not just telling people to upload the SVG. I have a purchased SVG that was NOT set up as it should have been. Now I know how to go into Illustrator and fix it. GREAT VIDEO!

It sounds like you haven't attached the draw layers to their backing shapes. Once you do that, then they will appear as they should. :)

what i do is select all artwork, copy, and then select object > path> offset path - this also does an outline (color white if needed) and then go to pathfinder>unite - to combine all the white shapes into one shape then paste the original colored art on top!!

If you'd like to change the dates for another year, you could cover the current dates with a rectangle and merge it with the images. Then type the new dates out and merge it again. :)

I have seen people change the faces to clip art images of other animals or even pictures of their own pets. To do so, you will need to weld your new image(s) onto the faces of my designs. Here is the instructions that the Cricut website gives for the welding process: Make sure the images you would like to weld overlap with each other. Select all images that will be welded together. Once two or more layers are selected, the Weld tool will become active. Click Actions > Combine > Weld to merge the selected images
