I run a Rayco C100R out West. Can I ask how well you single axle medium duty truck tows as I've a similar setup I'm considering using? Thanks!
@forestrymulcher5 ай бұрын
It works great! The utility body is heavy and is usually loaded down with stump grinder, buckets ect... but it pulls 60mph down the freeway no problem. I wish I had a little bit more braking power though. My truck has air brakes and the trailer has electric brakes. If the trailer had air brakes I feel like it would be the perfect setup. I like that I can pull the trailer with other trucks though and still have working brakes. hopefully this helps!

That camera perspective when mounted on the cab gives the best footage in my opinion. The power of the Rayco mulcher just mowing through those trees is incredible.

I really appreciate the feedback! 2-4" saplings is ideal material for the mulcher.

We were looking for a mini hoe that can also help on the bigger jobs. The way it sits it weights 15,500lb so we can still comfortably tow it behind a pick up (with the right trailer). All together I am very happy with it. I would love to have your 313 though 😉 always good hearing from you Sam. Hope you have a great weekend!

Hey Harry, two questions for you. You gave the cost for the carbides. What’s the price for the planer/knives? And, are the used teeth just scrapped or sent back for remanufacturing?
@forestrymulcher8 ай бұрын
These xtreme wear parts, carbide teeth are 87.95 each. The knives are $32.95 for the tooth themselves but I have to buy an adaptor @$30.40 each. I just scrap my old teeth. I have heard of guys brazing new carbide inserts in themselves, to save money but that is something I don't have time for.

As for employee performance: you get the behavior you reward. Want to keep worrying whether this puke you speak of will show up time after time? Just excuse it all, laugh it off and keep him on the payroll, and he'll be glad to oblige, that is, if he doesn't already see you as a push-over. Want to send a clear message? Do not let anything or anyone get in the way of the success and growth of your business. Might it mean a little more time away from your family to be such a hard-a$$? Temporarily, yes. But if your long-term goal is to build something your sons/family can be proud of to carry on your name and legacy into the future, it will be worth the sacrifice now. In fact, you could begin to include your family in filling out the labor card - even if it's just for a few hours - kinda like "take your son/daughter to work". Let them experience the initial exhilaration of earning X number of dollars per hour, only to have less of them show up in their checks stubs. Consider an employee of the month contest to underscore excellence and validate quality. Show everyone who wears a T-shirt with your name on it what quality job performance looks like and means for future success. And who knows? Maybe after a while this slacker may attempt to rejoin the company, but he won't have any misunderstanding of what you expect of him. Carry a very short leash.
