That's why you gotta tap early. When you're fucked, and you know it, take the L. It's okay.

Holy shit, i hope dude is healed and rehabbed well! Was it a forearm break from a kimura/double wrist lock? I'm not super bjj smart so I don't know exactly what the submission was, that's just my uneducated guess from what I could see. Was surgery required to reset the bone? Fuck, that's gnarly.

Personally, I feel like both people are at fault. The guy applying the submission should not mercilessly apply the lock when he knows that he's close to limit of the joint. And the guy being submitted have should been way more proactive at tapping. With that said, it's entirely possible to apply a submission to someone and break their shit before they have time to react. Jiu jitsu is about control. This was a lack of control on behalf of the submitter and a lack of awareness on behalf of the submittee.

The tap is before but barely. The tap at that time did not offer enough time for the opponent to stop before it broke. Should have been way earlier.

I don't understand, did he not feel it was that painful at that point or did it happen too fast to tap? Honest question, I'm a wrestler with no experience for this
@nemesisjiujitsu7050

I cant say if he actually felt pain or not. I can say it was applied very slowly compared to what one might see in other matches. He definitely had time.

On the flip side. You have coaches and competitors that get extremely upset when a ref stops a match like they do kids. It's needed for sure.
