One of my mentors was a Special Assistant to the President. I used to visit her at her office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building from time to time. She showed me around the West Wing a couple times during the George W. Bush Administration. The President’s dog Barney was in the Rose Garden one time, so I gave him a belly rub. My kids think it’s their favorite story from my time in DC.

my guess is he doesnt recognise insects as worthy for mercy, which i reckon fair enough which is to say that in theory insects are so stupid that they are unable to suffer

Did you rinse them first? Just curious as they just came out of the dirt! Also, you owe it to yourself to use fresh chopped garlic - WAY better than squeezing it out of a tube! Cheers - I'm looking forward to ours emerging, and I may give it a shot 😁
@HankProductionsАй бұрын
Hey Jim, I did give them a rinse… and I absolutely agree that fresh garlic would have been much better!! Haha 🤣 good luck.

fun fact, the reason the dancers without the wings are behind the ones with wings is because if the wind gets crazy someone needs to be behind them in case they topple.

The Auto Train represents the renaissance of train travel. I live in South Florida. My brother lives in Washington, DC and my sister lives on Long Island. I spend several weeks up in New York during each visit. The big advantage of train travel is the ability to easily take your own car with you.
@HankProductions8 ай бұрын
I absolutely agree! there should be more trains, including over to the west coast that allow you to take your car as well. thanks for watching and safe travels. Dave.

Wow, thanks for sharing such a negative comment. I am sorry you feel this strongly about it. If you had the ability to put a video together I would love to take the time and watch and provide you with some comments... My kids having the freedom and ability to experience such things is more important to me than anything else. Thanks for watching either way.

We are going there in the end of March 2024. We are staying in 2 bedroom lock off. Not sure how the weather is there at the end of March but guaranteed to be better than the cold, Wisconsin winter. Just wondering if you had any must do for end of March trip with 5 kids
@HankProductions8 ай бұрын
Hi Jim, thanks for watching and sorry for the delay in reply. Sounds like a nice trip you have planned! March will be nice, and not too hot... The indoor water park can be used in any weather so at least you have swimming options no matter what for the kids. We would suggest also driving into Duck and trying the Duck Donuts! Hope it all works out for you all and thanks again! Dave.

Did they have west wing tours regularly back then, because now it is just the east and main White House building.
@HankProductions8 ай бұрын
Hi Michael, the west wing tours are only under special conditions and not open to the general public. You have to know someone that works there to get access to this side unfortunately. This was also just before COVID so a lot has changed since then! Thanks for watching though and sorry we couldn't show more inside the west wing... Cheers, Dave.

@HankProductions Жыл бұрын
I guess living in Australia we just see the movies, and TV reports. Just seems a lot bigger and further out on some angles. Now having lived there for over three years it is very much part of the district and an amazing piece of history!! Love it all. Thanks for watching. Dave.
