I have SO MANY Silver brushes. I LOVE the big quill for REALLY loose and wet flowers on thick, textured cotton paper. I use your brushes, ALL shapes, ALL lines, for floral in watercolor, gouache and now fluid acrylics. Thank you so much.

I have a question. Thankfully I watched an old live session coz the blk velvet dagger i purchased arrived badly bent due to careless tapedown. I learned the boiling hot water method to revive (thru your demo). I had a question on whether I could do the same with the silver silk as i noticed a bent hair on my silver silk oval wash. P.s. question asked and answered by a live pax, thanks!

Oh my....I love your brush....HOWEVER I AM STILL LEARNING TO MASTER YOUR BRUSH....the other daggers by various companies are easier BUT THE RESULTS LESS BEAUTIFUL....TO BE 100 PERCENT FRANK, YOUR DAGGER IS GOLD STANDARD.

is there no way to prevent the hair loss as a manufacturer? you showed the knive option but in the blend at the end of the video you had at least 2 hairs in the blended area which when removed would destroy the blend so you had to go over again.

At the 10 minute mark as she is trying to show brush strokes the camera focuses on Mrs. Silver and NOT the brush strokes!

I absolutely LOVE the Silver Black Velvet brushes for watercolor and was looking forward to seeing a demonstration. It would be so much more helpful if you would put the camera above the paper pointing down at the artist’s hand work so we can see the brush strokes and the marks made. I couldn’t see well enough to know whether I could use the triangle brush and I was really interested in learning how to use the dagger stryper brush.

Silver Brush is known to have very bad customer service. They don’t honour the guarantee or exchange a unit that has a manufacturing defect. Some people also report that their customer service department doesn’t even respond to requests. I think it’s best to buy from a different brand.

You should focus on customer service as well. So far I have emailed your customer service department 3 times in the past 3 weeks regarding a defect and you never respond.

Are these soft enough not to lift off the paint when using gouache for example, yet springy enough for detailed shapes?

Why do you need rolling boiled water? Can't we just use tap water? It pretty much does the same thing, doesn't it? And since I'm going to reuse the brush repeatedly and won't need agar agar, can't I just rewet the hairs normally?

I love this brush but would definitely consider it a sword not a dagger since it is so long. It has pretty much replaced my rigger

Love these brushes! I would definitely suggest not getting the entire set though, they come to such a fine point that getting every single size is a waste practically speaking. Personally I use the 10 as my workhorse, a 6 for finer work, am considering getting the 2 for details, and use a 16 for large base washes. The mix of the wide belly’s and fine tips has spoiled me for other round brush designs lol.

This NOT a watercolor appropriate brush. It doesn’t hold water, the paint comes off scratchy. The tip makes unreliable lines. It would be nice if brush makers would stop telling people that brushes can do more media than they are capable of. Please make triangle brushes in your Black Velvet series. Now those are excellent brushes for water color!

I am into illustration and gouache. This seems to be a very versatile brush and I'm excited to try them out. (I have ordered both the large and small. ETA, Thursday this week.) 💐

Great info but, wow, the volume is super low (all volume on max on my computer) and poor. And I honestly can't see anything, even after you zoomed in.

I think that's why it only got 3.9k. I'm not saying it's not pretty. Then again, once it sped up, I left

I have just found you and great you do these videos. I bought your Black velvet travel brushes , and a few of your other normal brushes in the Silver Squirrel range so love them, the pick up so much pigment. UK viewer ! wished I could have entered the competition, a year too late !

Very informative.. I'm a fan of the black velvet...I am using the Ruby satin angles for watercolour florals and they seem to be good...I did not like the white haired silver Atelier quill.. It doesn't keep a point even when wet.... Somehow it didn't work for me. I'm interested in the silver white and the golden.. Let's see how it goes.

I was glad was I first found your video and then I tried the boiling water. To my chagrin, THAT fix only lasts until the brushes dried & then the fly away hair is right back. That applies to my #8 round and #1 script brushes! After using the #8 a couple of time and the #1 once, Both brushes are essentially useless. They are too expensive to be sitting around just collecting dust! It's only a couple of week past the 30 days since my purchase and the Silver Website's links are all dead, so I feel hopeless and stuck

Ahhhhhh!!!! That explains why it lays colors down more “dry” rather than traditional paintbrushes. I have the dagger, flat, round and the cat’s tongue! It lays watercolor down very smoothly. Literally like butterrr they are beautiful brushes
