The hatred of the ONES (Cavils) not only for Humans but themselves whom the Final 5 from original EARTH made into Human Form --- infected their entire civilization. The ONES even committed Genocide against the SEVENS (Daniels - named after Daniel Graystone, inventor of the Colonial Cylons) long before the Genocide of the Humans of the 12 Colonies - contaminating the DNA so no more could ever exist. Eventually the TWOs, SIXs and EIGHTs realized they were wrong and rebelled against the ONEs, FOURSs and FIVEs. All MALES - with no Resurrection Tech or ability to reproduce... Whatever became of them and the Rebel CYLON Basestar with the Centurion Cylons that left our EARTH - never to return? Hopefully one day Sam Esmail's planned in Universe BSG series will reveal it all. Derailed during COVID - but months ago (mid 2024) he said its still in the works. We shall see if it actually becomes a series.

The opening scenes of the great reunion in 1979, "STAR TREK, The Movie" ! Attack on "VEGER" I began my Star Trek experience in 1966 with its first episodes. I was a "Trekkie" from then on. Watched them over and over again in reruns. I was one of the first in line when the great reunion of 1979 was released. Wept with the audience when Spock died; laughed and cried again when he returned on the Genesis planet; was glad when "George & Gracie" got picked up and dropped off in the San Francisco Bay. I wasn't too sure about "The Next Generation ", but after the first few episodes, I was a "Trekkie" in earnest..again. All the great films that followed have kept me young at heart and eager as a kid waiting for the next treat. Now, as the last of "Picard III" has ended, I'm very sad....that it is indeed, the end of "TNG". Thanks to Gene Roddenberry's vision, the "Trek" has been one of my life's greatest joys. And many thanks to all the writers, producers, directors and most of all, to Sir Patrick Stewart, Johnathan Frakes, LeVar Burton(Kunta Kinte), and the rest of the great cast for bringing life to his vision. I'm just PO'd that I won't be around to see mankind fulfill that dreamed of "WARP SPEED", not to mention, "THE FEDERATION OF PLANETS" ...... GOD SPEED EVERYONE. .

Why do pilots' helmets resemble ancient Egyptian headgear...???
@darthplagueis4626
@darthplagueis4626 5 күн бұрын
Given how ancient Egyptian history gets (even referenced in the title monologue along with the Toltecs and the Mayans), the creators deliberately used Egyptian influences in Colonial culture and designs, such as the pyramids/ziggurats on Caprica and the Viper pilot helmets. The most prominent example of this was on Kobol, the birthplace of humanity, which was shot on Egyptian-themed sets, which were utilized with background footage shot at the Great Pyramids of Giza. In contrast, the newer series helmed by Ronald D. Moore drew much more heavily upon Greek culture and mythology.

One thing I always loved about this episode was that there was two NEW spaceship model scenes, and not just recycling of the same old ones (though they were in this episode as well. 1) @2:34 When the Cyclon Raider was turning in front of the Galactica to make its suicide run on the bridge. 2) @3:30 When the Cyclon Raider suicide runs into the landing bay. First time either of those model scenes were shown.

This must've been an expensive show to produce. Doctor Who didn't have anywhere near the budget of a US series, so their characters used diplomacy rather than combat. The "doctor" would've beamed himself onto the enemy ship, offered them drugged tea and biscuits, then used his yo-yo tie up the wires, distracted the sensors by tossing a cricket ball, and hacked into the system.
