I had this car (same year and trim). I miss the 4WD on the fly. God I loved that car. Drive it for 18 years before passing it down to family.

The 4wd button just “works” in H2/H4. It engages the transfer case to 4wd ONLY, while every other position is 4wd, but with a center differential lock as well so power is 100% 50/50 split on both axles.
