I try to make a recipe of food referenced from each little house on the prairie book every time i re read the books. Vinegar pie was one of the first recipes i made when i started this tradition and I loved it !

You didn't say what you did with the old and new scobe.
@ShannonDykstra22 күн бұрын
I keep the newest Scoby to go in with the fresh batch of tea/kombucha. I have cut up old scobys to feed to chickens but most of the time I add to the compost. Just quicker that way;) I’ve also shared scobes with anyone in need.i usually do a quick post on fb to see if anyone needs one right before composting. ;)

Was likely just a reaction to the lid. Happens all the time. Long as no mold on your food and smells fine you’re fine. Mold is usually fuzzy.

This is just what I was looking for. Cold canning with already cooked meat. Most cold canning videos are showing raw packed. So I’m glad to see this. I also used this idea for beans that were soaked and then cooked for thirty minutes then rested and allowed to cool. Then later I jarred them up cool and put in cool pot. They turned out great! All sealed, no syphoning, not mushy, very tasty. I didn’t want to raw pack my meat this time. But I didn’t want to cook the meat, then put into jars hot, then put in hot canner, then babysit for another ninety minutes. I love that I can let the meat cool, then put into cool jars later. I just need that much flexibility. Thanks for showing the steps to do this process!
@ShannonDykstra3 ай бұрын
So glad to be of help;) and no, the meat won’t be dry either;) I had folks say dry turkey meat cooked longer will be dry as a bone. Not sitting in all that liquid. It’s quite juicy;) and delicious! I love canning leftovers;) Happy canning!

I loved watching you make this beautiful salsa. So many others I have watched leave out so many good ingredients that their salsa looks boring and I love a full body type taste. I do add some seasonings to my own salsa like a little bit of cayenne and some cumin and I tend to go a little heavy on garlic cloves. Your salsa looks so delicious and chunky, I am going to write it down in my canning cookbook for later use. Thanks for sharing your process. May God always Bless you with good health and prosperity in all you do.

Best working animal there is thousands and thousands of years of breeding to make the ultimate livestock guardian dog. I can't say they make great inside pets unless you don't work outside home/farm they bond to you as they would livestock and livestock is always there for them where as if you have a 9 to 5 job it will be bored and perhaps develop bad behaviors theres better dogs as pets but none better as a livestock guardian dog than the Anatolian Shepard/ Kangel
@mulkiogul52446 ай бұрын
In Anatolia, shepherd dogs go to the pasture with herds of sheep and cows. When the ewe gives birth in the pasture, the dog stays with them to protect the ewe and the lamb. Anatolian shepherd dogs also have a very special bond with children. Anatolian shepherd dogs act aggressively only against predatory animals. They do not bark much, if they sense something around they will bark to warn them. While the animals are grazing in large pastures, they keep possible dangers away by walking around the herd.

How many cups or ozs of pineapple chunks does 1 pineapple yield? Also, did you use the core? I'm just looking for the ratio of pineapple to sugar. Thank you! JC
@ShannonDykstra8 ай бұрын
I didn’t use the core. I save core and skins for tepeche (fermented drink). I checked my recipe and didn’t write down the yield. But i use one pineapple with 2 cups sugar. Most of the time I double the recipe. I’ve also added cayenne peppers to it too;)
