I get the advertisement, but each location will vary with strength. I can fly in the same areas and some days I get interference within 1000 feet sometimes I can triple it. Depending on the conditions in that area. I never trust a manufactures specs in relation to flight distance and battery life. You should have pulled out way before. The avatas don't have sensors to avoid crashes. It most likely hit that tree before the air brakes kicked in, then fell into the water. Sorry for that loss, good you have care refresh.

I have to agree with others the display showed already verry quickly the lack of good signal..and you kept going. About rth ..what setting did you put in the advanced settings menu? Because I always put it in hoover if connection is lost...the drone will only go automatically rth when the battery gets critical...

Yes, clearly a drone advertised to fly 8 miles and loses signal at 1200' is pilot error. And also both RTH "features" failing... Must be my fault 🙄

@@tdog303 8 miles with clear line of sight the signal cant go through 300m of dirt and if you think it does even though the osd is showing bad signal and you still keep going ye that is pilot error you are right about the rth but the situation only happend because you ignored the warnings and kept going and pls stop making me defend dji i really dont like that company

@@bluefpv3263 once again... I was not behind 300m of dirt. I was at the top of a view point overlooking the lake. A wide open area and other than the trees there were no other obstacles.

@@tdog303 oh ok if you had line of side the signal was pretty poor thats true but doesnt change the fact that you had a low signal warning the entire time which you choose to ignore that warning is there to tell you that your signal is about to break up my guess is that you didnt have the fcc hack running and thats why you had lower signal strength

This is basically a new drone pilot that is being an idiot. If your losing signal and your not in VLOS going between a bunch of trees and other objects its going to kill the signal. You are at fault 100% for not taking action and getting it up higher so you can get the signal back. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes! This is no fault of DJI whatsoever. It is all you.

Great that your getting another Drone, DJI are really good with the care Refresh, that's why it's worth getting it, I got the 2 years with mine, only had the Avata 2 for 3 weeks, Good news thou, stay safe.

Transmission with the goggles 2 is not awesome other than line of site 100% obstruction free. Transmission with only the controller display is not anything to get excited about. Speaking with experience and with mini3 pro. You gotta position yer head and controls to maximize signal. But im with you on this one. My cetus X could have made that run

good to hear that the replacement system works. i was worried they would give you sh*t for flying without a direct visual line to the drone. read about a couple of those cases online. next time be a bit more careful to save those 200$. these things signal is pretty environment sensitive. heck mine sometimes looses connection when i stand too close to a big cliff or building because of interference. in your case with the warning in would have immediately pulled straight up into the sky.

The point is that you never may fly behind an obstacle, the chance to lose signal is huge. Behind a mountain is absolutely no go. The best return to home is the pilot bringing the drone back to home with radio signal in a normal flight😊. Never trust the automatic rth , pushing the drone to the limit till get the signal lost. When you see that warning , climb, regain the signal. Of course we always learn something every day, and this mistake you made is part of your experience from now on. Enjoy the flights.

@tdog303 Sorry, I thought the H was behind. Well, than it is a different situation. 👍 This drone, if you fly with no obstacles between the controller and the drone, has a huge range. Try to fly in another area and check the range. If it is ok, then the problem can be due to some interference in that place you flew. If the problem remains, it is a drone or controller issue and certainly will be replaced. In any case, if you see the signal on screen get red, climb to get the signal strong again, because there is an issue.👍🙂

It was giving you a low RC signal warning all the way down, but you kept on going. This is entirely on you.

Okay but.... Advertised Max Transmission Distance (obstructed, with interference): Low Interference and Obstructed by Trees: approx. 0.5-3 km. Drone lost transmission at 367m. Advertised Failsafe RTH: Failsafe RTH happens when your drone loses signal for 3 seconds when using the remote controller or 20 seconds if using Wi-Fi. When it kicks in it will ascend to the set RTH height and fly back to you. I waited for a half hour and neither the "Failsafe RTH" or "Low Battery RTH kicked in. The drone did not do 2 of the things advertised that should not have allowed this to happen.

You were flying towards trees and water as the signal went out, the drone was probably in the water or colliding with trees before the 3 seconds were up. But none of that makes any difference as you deliberately flew on despite the drone warning you that the signal was getting worse. RTH isn’t magically going to save your drone every time. It’s a last resort that you should really aim to never use.

How were your settings,did you specify the drone to hover, RTH, or land, you have to set that in settings, see what DJI says, and did you have care Refresh, if not Very bad loss, Expensive loss at that.

It was sent to return to the home point. For both signal loss and low battery. I did have DJI Care. It cost me $200 for a new one and should be here tomorrow.

@@tdog303⚠️⚠️⚠️also important what are your settings for the fly back height ??? when your drone flies back it goes up to your saved settings maby 20m or 30m are the normal, maby it wasnt enough for the trees or !!! Or it actually flies back but straight into the hill there are no colision sensors for the front if it is set to 30m it is still out there check it on your googles what your height was. Your drone might be on the hill at the point where your H point is and you had lost your signal !!!!!!

Why didn't you pay attention to the RC signal warning starting at 0:06? It was 1 bar red all the way until the until the crash. The correct move would have been to stop the flight and ascend to get a better connection, then reconsider where to fly it based on the connection. Getting a mountain/hill in the way of the drone signal is trouble for pretty much any drone on the market.

Idk. I think it has to do with whatever colour grading the program used.

It's either the LUT I'm using, or my computer can't handle the rendering. I recorded another video today without and with colour grading and the raw footage doesn't have the artifacts.
