So a question for anyone who has been up there, how long do you estimate the wait would be in the regular que after you pass through the metal detector? I thought the old dragster had alot more switchbacks in the que and i can remember waiting hours for it and they still had empty que switchbacks that were not in use
@TheChainLift3 ай бұрын
I believe I overheard at media day that the queue past the metal detectors is approximately an 1-1/2 hour wait. I expect a lot of overflow out onto the midway this summer for the queue.

Are they moving the on ride photo station to the building at 0:12 or keeping it in its original spot? Couldn’t tell from some of your shots so I was curious! Great clips of Top Thrill 2 overall :)
@TheChainLift3 ай бұрын
On media day, it was in the same location it was for TTD. I'm not sure what the plan is for the future with that building. Appreciate the kind words!
@shanelloyd64503 ай бұрын
May be a silly question, but…my biggest question is how do you pay for onride photo without a wallet since your wallet is at the other end of the coaster 🤣
@TheChainLift3 ай бұрын
Ha! Fair question. On Media Day, the photos were in the same place they were with TTD. We saw that small building with the Top Thrill 2 Photos sign, closer to the lockers. Maybe when park is operating normally, they'll have it moved over there. 🤷♂️
@MTDeVries933 ай бұрын

Still there! In the original concept art released by CP, the bleachers were removed and replaced with a smaller seating/viewing area. Looks like that was scrapped from the budget.

That higher center of gravity of the train definitely adds to the spiral down the drop feeling different. Intamin designed it around the heart line of the rider, now it’s somewhere in your gut. The supports holding the track actually had to be scalloped out to extend the clearance around riders on the spiral drop, because the ride chassis is so much higher off the track.

Those aluminum trains are going to have issues and may start to have stress fractures. Its a tall train meaning larger wheel and the coaster is already doing its side to side shake thingy. It seems like it throws you now coming down the top hat on the twisting section. I can only imagine how its going to run when its hot.
@OfficialEthanStillCodes-92293 ай бұрын
Hopefully nothing bad really happens with those trains. The ride experience isn’t all that bad with that rattle, since you don’t really feel it on ride.

Good to see your videos again guys! I will be there on Wednesday to ride TT2, and it will be coaster #700 for me...all in the US & Canada. I know there can't be too many people from Michigan that have ridden more coasters than that. I think TT2 will prove to be more successful than Dragster...
@TheChainLift3 ай бұрын
Thanks! Happy to be back! 700 coaster credits is quite the achievement! We’re approaching 400 credits and realizing that we’ve been to most of the major parks in the US so now we’re gonna have to start knocking off some of the smaller parks with 1-2 coasters, haha.
@playboisuave79693 ай бұрын
it most likely felt faster because the original dragster did not launch at exactly 120. it was somewhere closer to around 110. this was done to prevent wear and tear on the track. Top thrill 2 launches at (or closer to) 120, so that’s why it feels faster. (hence why rollbacks will be less likely on this coaster)

My impression on that final launch off the spike was that while you're not being accelerated as hard as the old Dragster launch, you spend a LOT more time at a 100+MPH speed, which is an equally insane feeling.
