This question may have already been asked, but I didn’t see it. Which mount setup are you running on the helmet for the RH25? Is it a bridge mount attached to a G24?
@Outdoorsmans
@Outdoorsmans 2 күн бұрын
Correct. The plate on the RH25 has both a Picatinny section and a dovetail for Wilcox mounts. There's a link to each part of the system in the comments!

I'd still give the edge (no pun intended) to the ELs for sure. Also, the new lower pricing on ELs makes the decision a little tougher, but the advantage of the SFL is the size and weight. Great for bowhunters, etc.

@purtnearperkins
@purtnearperkins 4 ай бұрын
Epic Outdoors in Utah also has a stud available that fits the Swarovski tripod mount. It’s black and blends in with the binos without noticing and it’s not nearly as obtrusive. The Swarovski mount is a lever quick release. Both are great, but if you already have a Swaro tripod adapter it’s a fantastic option. I corresponded with Swarovski North America and the guy said he is hopeful they will have their own mount for the NLs this summer during the new product release. They’ve been asking for it for several years.

How would you compare this scope to a trijicon credo, Zeiss v4 vortex razor lht, maven rs1.2? Lowlight capabilities, clarity, etc?
@Outdoorsmans
@Outdoorsmans 5 ай бұрын
(From Joe) We don't have a ton of experience with the Trijicon, but I would say it’s a slight upgrade from the Zeiss. The LHT scopes are great, but they don't quite compete optically. The Amplus performed well enough in low light that I didn’t like take note of anything or thought that it was subpar in any way. It also tracks extremely well and held zero extremely well. Optically, Leica is one of the better options, and at this price point you're getting a lot of value.

I have a pair of 8x40s and believe they are indeed a candidate for best value. They may not have the FOV and edge to edge sharpness of the NLs, but center sharpness is on par with the NLs, they're significantly lighter, and have much faster focusing. Nice to see a manufacturer back off of nose bleed pricing yet provide close to top level performance.

Debating between 10x42 amd 12x42 for birding. Fov doesnt mean anything to me, already know general location of bird i want to look at but i want to be able to identify them better. Also i wamt to be able to identify and track them while they are flying. Is 12x too much for that to do handheld?
@Outdoorsmans
@Outdoorsmans 9 ай бұрын
In your case, between those two, I'd go with the 10x42. For tracking a moving bird, I would highly encourage you to check out an 8x or even an 8/10x32 and get one in your hands. The clarity of these optics really changes your understanding of magnification. The 12x42 is excellent, but it's field of view seems to shine at longer ranges (500 yd+). Field of view probably has the biggest effect on tracking a moving object. More FOV = less chance of an animal escaping it, and the more perceived stability you'll have. Thanks for the question!
