i have a brarrett mrad in 338lm and 308 win. looking to step up to the 37xc. i know a lot of shooters will use a 36 in + barrel. can i go shorter say 30 inches and still get good velocities? i think any of the change barrel platforms are great for this cartridge.[ mrad, AI, Desert tech]. purpose built guns in 37 cal may only get a few shots a year .

The chamber is sloppy like that so the rifle can shoot most all brands of ammo. Despite brass thickness. Into the precision world, we don't want that. We want tighter tolerances

What barrels do you recommend now David? I remember for the Tubb 2000 you were using Schneider's. *side note* You need a garage or man-cave for the Sweets. Strong ammonia smell in the house is a major no no if you want a peaceful rest of the day with your GF or spouse.

Is it possible to associate the markings with an angle? Angle is necessary if using the reticle to range the target because the target will be slanted when looking at it from an angle and a cosine needs to be applied both to the distance but also to the height of the target. This allows to take into consideration that the target looks shorter or compressed because we are looking at it from up or down. Thank you.

Doesn't the shorter compressed flat wire spring risk the back of the BCG gas key crashing into the front edge of the buffer tube when it moves rearwards during cycling? When the BCG is pressed all the way rearwards as far as it can go, there should be about 3.5mm between the back of the gas key and the front of the buffer tube. From the example shown, it looks like the flat wire spring is significantly shorter in a compressed state, well beyond 3.5mm shorter relative to the traditional buffer spring.

You are missing the point here, the spring is never going to hit the full compression shown on those pinned buffers. The idea is with the wider spacing between the coils, the flat-wire spring _doesn't_ bottom out like the round spring, thus meaning it slows the dwell time of the carrier unlocking, and reduces the "bounce" when re-locking on the next round. This in turn increases the lifespan of the spring, and also _reduces_ failures such as gas-key impact, because the tension is more consistant throughout the stroke of the entire BCG movement. That's why the recoil impulse is reduced as well, instead of it bottoming out and the excess momentum hitting your shoulder, the slowed momentum feels more like a gentle "push" than a "punch", so to speak.

Mr. Tubb, I visited the website, Superior Shooting Systems, to buy some of your AR magazine flat springs but received a warning from my search engine that your website has an unencrypted connection that will allow 3rd party tracking of my activity and would allow hackers to gather or steal my transaction information. Anywhere else that I could possibly buy some of your flatsprings?

I just buy Boron Nitride (BR) mold release powder off ETSY for $9.95 and put 150 bullets in a small plastic water container with a wide mouth lid and and half a teaspoon BR and vibrate the jar in my brass vibrator for 2 hours. Done!

I got a 6XC II reamed a couple of years ago, I wasn't happy as using standard 6XC dies you over work the case head too much and need ALOT of force, i ended up using a seperate body then shoulder bump die which is annoying for the extra steps. If you want a 6XC II chamber you really should first get 6XC II dies! 6XC II is not a newer version 2 of 6XC, its a different dimension case chamber! Its a catchy but misleading name!

So if the system comes with a bayonet, would you end up with 2 bayonets because one comes with the Magnetospeed? Or can you just buy the V3 without a bayonet? Just started looking into getting some sort of chronograph so I'm not familiar with them all.

Mr. Tubb you are certainly the very brightest star in the solar system when it comes to gun knowledge in my book anyway. You are a wealth of information and I certainly respect your work and character. I have a question pertaining to a previous video you made. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fZ6VrLV-yquugY0.html. I think the title was something like, Everything you need to know about AR buffer tubes. My question is, have you heard about the new Super 42 braided buffer spring that Geissele Automatics has came out with, and if so, what is your assessment of it?
