Beautiful job! I just played this piece for my first-year exam for my masters in classical guitar, and I really like the musical decisions and storytelling made here :)

I'm so glad to finally getting to hear works of Julia Perry. I've long been fascinated to know about her, since I learned she was a pupil of Dallapiccola. This piece certainly does NOT disappoint. Wonderful.

Hello Maestra Madsen! It's so nice to see you performing here on KZfaq. What a lovely concert! (I played piccolo in MSO in the early 90's). I'd love to make your contact again . Be well :)

Amazing piece! Stark and moving. Thank you so much, Julia Perry needs to be (re)discovered -- can we hear the symphonies, please?

A little longer than may need be to make your point, also conceivably a little too speedy. But an interesting idea and amusing all the same.

I did some comparative listening, and the new concert ending is actually partly based on a paring-down of Reinecke’s ending, from 4:13 to 5:20. Unfortunately, that results in a long passage that is iterated twice almost verbatim (where Reinecke used a fuller orchestration in the second iteration than the first, here the orchestrations are identical). If I were to program this ending again, I’d ask its composer (can’t scroll to find the name while writing this) to make a cut from 4:50 to about 5:02. I wouldn’t ask to cut both iterations; just the first. I believe that would bring down the coda to Mozart’s length. Note that the coda includes only everything from 4:50 onwards; the concert ending actually begins with what is technically still part of a recapitulation. This is actually a valid point because the entire recapitulation of the second group in the concert version of the overture to The Abduction from the Seraglio is actually part of the concert ending of that piece.
