What were the two components (like their ratings)? It looked like a 17805 regulator (the transistor), but I couldn't get a make on the capacitor (voltage or microfarads). I'm having a similar issue and want to give this possible solution a go.

@@techguyz708 I'd say getting the potentiometers is a better because you get multiple pairs, so while the whole module replacement is $11 spent for a 1 time repair, for $10 you can have multiple replacement pairs of potentiometers to keep swapping whenever a set wears out. 👍

I just installed 1 tb ssd with the old hard drive and it’s working pretty fast. I did not take the cdrom as I felt it as a great touch to the laptop. Anyways , great idea to swap out the cdrom with a new hard drive.

I know this is an old vid, but it was the best. I had 2 of these phones , 1 with broken screen and camera ,the other with bad main board . Swapped the good parts including camera and works like new .. Thanks a mill techguyz .

hi. thanks for this helpfull video. ok i have two non working GG. i could identify the badly working power board thx to your video. do you have any tips to go further and identify if its the main board fault or the screen fault (or sound board ?) fault if the console does not show anything even if the power board is fine ? regards.
