They kill him not neither did they crucify, meaning jews did not kill him not crucify. Meaning of crucifixion is to put to death by nailing on to the cross. Jesus was on the cross for only 3-6 hours. And never in the history of crucifixion occurred such things as man died on the cross in 6 hours, it usually takes 5 days maximum. So if Jesus was not died on the cross then he was not crucified. He may be fainted so the people thought he was dead. That is what the Qur'an says, "it was made to appear them" in the arabic it says. Wa lakin shubiha lahum. meaning what was appear to the people seeing the fainted Jesus as death on the cross. And the theory of substitution, namely, Judas is not correct because the word here used is 'shubbiha' meaning appear, seems, if substituted the word would be 'tabdilaha' in place of shubiha.
