It makes total sense. Russia knows NATO will never attack first. So Russia will always choose if and when. They will not choose now because they are loosing the war in Ukraine already. So they need everything in Ukraine and they dont need anything anywhere else because they know NATO wont invade them.

I understand how complex these situations are and how complex people are, but some of y’all get mad when people say they want world wide peace, and that’s the dumbest fucking thing to me. That should be the goal we aspire to. It doesn’t matter how naive it sounds. Why would you get mad at someone for wanting that?

My country has been on a state of civil war for almost 60 bloody fucking years now.. We have a communist rebellion who's aim is to achieve a complete revolution and topple our government.. We have suspicion that these revolutionist rebels are backed by china.

Living in the Kaliningrad region. Now tourism is developing here. The new governor with a long, untranslatable last name is an absolutely civilian person. He was appointed by Putin a month ago - he talks about medicine, tourism, investment, transport - the problem of supplying goods is very acute. But there is absolutely no military rhetoric. There are many cars with European license plates. So many. And not all of these people are Russian-speaking Europeans who came to visit relatives Everything looks like the K region is not only not going to fight (or defend itself) in the near future - it is not going to fight at all

I think Putin miscalculated and bit off way more than he can chew in Ukraine, and taking military assets out of Kaliningrad serves two purposes: 1) Replacement/replenishment of assets destroyed in Ukraine and 2) De-escalating with the surrounding NATO member States. He strengthened NATO instead of weakening it. Nato member States are militarizing at an extremely accelerated rate and that was an unintended consequence Putin didn’t think would happen.

Where I live in Northern California, there are a lot of Russian immigrants. It borders the capitol Sacramento. It is also about 20 miles south of Beale Air Force base, home of the U-2 and satellite surveillance. On the edge of my town is an FBI office. I wonder what is going on as far as espionage.

Be realistic, Suwalki gap wouldn't be the target. Kaliningrad would be the actual target, it's effectively undefendable and would be quickly used to expand the Suwalki gap.

It is known that NATO troops are stationed in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. An attack on these countries would immediately trigger WW3. Russia rattles its sabers verbally, but does nothing to put this into practice. Russia knows exactly that this region is under observation.
