This is beautiful! I am a teacher and I struggle to keep the meaning of poetry alive after teaching the same syllabus over and over. But it is definitely possible. Thank you for this.

Just recite it the way you feel like it’s best. And after all that the last recital was less confident. You had it the first time. ❤

By the time it took you to read this I wrote ten poems, five sonnets, a play, and two biographies, what have you done?

I just watched the video. I phrased myself poorly. I apologize. I wasn't trying to bash the homeless that day. The Zonings of Chico have undermined Civil Rights and have brought poverty to all of our areas. I care about the homeless very much. I've been homeless. My Pop was homeless for 25 years. I find entrapment into homelessness is what's happening with Zonings. My point was that Unsafe Zonings entrap The Peoples' Civil Rights in Gainful Employment toward Homelessness and Robbery of The Gold Rush Area's many Natural Resources. The Rehabs and Institutions Zoned next to liquor stores and residences bring temptation and entrapment that creat homelessness to extract natural resources. I was stressed at that time. I did not say it well.

Nevada County is absolutely the best community I have ever lived in, in almost 56 years in at least 50 different locations. All places have their strengths, as well as things that make you want to hop in a car and drive 100 mph on a highway going the other direction. However, NC stands above all others in every way I can think of--14 years later, I still have very few reasons not to move back. But I also have a powerful anchor in my current location, so I am overwhelmed with gratitude that I can remotely experience Nevada County in the present--while simultaneously reliving memory of music carried on the wind from the NC Fairgrounds, across my sprawling garden, over my summer bed on my redwood deck, and into my kitchen where I lived with my dogs, cat, and partner--all four long gone over the Rainbow Bridge to the Other Side. Today this gave me a chance to go home for almost 3 hours. Thank you Nevada County Arts Council... and thanks Max for putting the link on your website.
