I've had mine for a little over a year now. I love it! I live in the Northwest US so brought it in the house to winter under lights. She has really stretched out though and is no longer as compact as when I bought her. Do these require a lot of bright light or is stretching just something they do?

Absolutely NO WAY it can take -20, I had a Star of Toscane in my garden for about 4-5 years and it always took a lot of damage with absolute minimum temps at between -8 and -12 and that with winter protection. Last winter I left it without any winter protection the coldest temp we had was -9 and everything above ground died.

This is the 'Hararasp' bred by Toshikhiko Hara, in Japan. I suspect it was bred from native Japanese raspberries like Rubus crataegifolius. They do have large sharp thorns and I suspect this Raspberry Tree does too. In Australia they should be available in the next 6 months, they are already available in the UK now. The flavour may or may not be like the European raspberries that are most common, will have to wait and see.

As we are designing and buying/realizing for the (upper bracket) of the professional market: greening cities for instutional investors, cities, public/private parties and other please add: Concrete specs (max size), soil requirement, light requirement, watering requirement. In each of our projects we use 150 - 400 varieties, many of them are Plantipp cultivars. Important for us: climate proof (both heat and cold approc. - 15*C - 45* C) and biodiverse. we are nearly not working with 'sterile' plants anymore (please pay attention to this you plant 'developers' (veredelaars)! We are embracing types which contribute to more biodiversity. We also look at other flowering periods for this.
