That's not that much magnified. it's just like 50x zoom nothing else bro. But you can improve as I see to see the actual microscopic beings at around like 1000X.

New sub! Thanks for the video!❤ I’ve been wanting to breed my current community of cardinal tetras. Right now their water parameters are at the opposite end for breeding because they are in with my mystery snails. How should I go about moving them from their current setup to one with the parameters for breeding? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! ❤

Daphneas should be fine for food if you can get green water. If you have enough nutrients for plant roots they should be able to out compete the green water.

I've heard of people putting in marbles on the floor of the breeding tanks. The eggs fall under it and the fishes can't eat the eggs right away.

What's the minimum size tank to use as a breeding tank? How do you transfer your cardinals back into regular tank water from being in a tank with distilled water?
@AvatarAquatics22 күн бұрын
For cardinals I like 10 gallons. To reintroduce: slowly change ~10% water every few days with your regular water source once they have their blue stripes and red bellies.

This is amazing thank you! How do you store the baby brine shrimp in between feedings? Are there best practices for storing?
@AvatarAquatics23 күн бұрын
You can freeze them in ice cube trays. I always freeze the brine shrimp eggs that I haven’t hatched yet, they’re good for years that way
@Carolina-ql1kn23 күн бұрын
Don't they need oxygen? How do they breath in that container?
@AvatarAquatics23 күн бұрын
It depends on how many fish are in there and how long. A sponge filter will help

Syringe by hand and 1 by 1 a million of hydras? Unbelievable. Some 1 tell me about hydra is normal for shrimp tank or bad for shrimp tank? Cause i dont understand some of words its ma bad english
@WildCastOutdoorsАй бұрын
You can add guppies to get rid of it they will eat the hydra. Syringe will get rid of a small infestation

How long should the fry be in the spawning tank before moving to a grow out tank with "normal" tank water?
@WildCastOutdoorsАй бұрын
I don’t recommend moving them until they are a few months old and able to join the adults. Make sure they are acclimated slowly

Ive successfully bred little amanos. Since then, none of my shrimps bare eggs. Its been over two months now. Anyone know what could be the problem? 😢 Gh 6, kh5, temperature now in summer 28C
@AvatarAquaticsАй бұрын
What’s your food schedule and lighting length? Need summer lights and long long days too. pH? Did the males die?
@Lennys12Ай бұрын
@@AvatarAquatics there are maybe three males and ten females. A strong light is on for 9 hours a day. I feed 4 times a week - frozen bloodworms, shrimp sanctuary food, spinach, calcium hearts, sometimes shrimp vegetable lollies. Ph stays around 6,8 Two weeks ago I found two females with some eggs and they dropped them in a few hours from me spotting them. Really dont know what could be the problem..
@WildCastOutdoorsАй бұрын
@@Lennys12 does it get sunlight? Sunrise-sunset hours in the summer are like ~16 hours each day. I think the two females dropping eggs was just a coincidence. It should be okay
@Lennys12Ай бұрын
@@WildCastOutdoors no sunlight. I will pay with my light and lengthen the period!

Since they were in there a week, did you do any water changes in the breeding tank?
@AvatarAquaticsАй бұрын
No, but if you have a larger breeding group of fish than me then you should clean the tank or add a filter for oxygenation.

It likely does. Someone did raise them in a salt environment. Took 2 months. Might have to search for the paper

@greenleaf2233Ай бұрын
Well, one can run an extra sponge filter in the tank for days to populate beneficial bacteria then remove original one during treatment. after water change put the original back in or wait until all the doses are done. I know you already thought of that...

Do you know if is it a problem to not have a light that simulate sunrise and sunset? Because I don't have those fancy ones...
@AvatarAquatics2 ай бұрын
A normal light will do just fine, they breed in the dark. It’s more about the duration of light rather than sunrise/sunset. Stimulate spring and summer lighting duration. Most of my tanks also receive natural sunlight in the morning.

Could the mark mentioned on the egg @12:48 be the oil globule? It has been a while since I've reviewed fish embryology but if I remember Characidae, the family tetras are in, produce oil globules even though like less than half of freshwater fish produce them. I couldn't figure out what other structure it could be.
