@AmritaBhortake4 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for your kind words. I would have shot at a slower shutter speed but the flowers kept falling and the petals were looking blurry. So decided to up the ISO. If I had a more stable arrangement, I would definitely slow the shutter speed.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Some species of lavender will bloom in spring and summer. If you prune it after it's bloom in spring, you can get a second bloom in fall for some varieties.

How do you keep hydrangeas in zone 10? !!!
@AmritaBhortake11 күн бұрын
Hydrangeas can be grown in zone 10 but you need to look for varieties that do well here. I had to move mine to a shadier spot than the one I had previously planted it in but once moved to the part shade location, it did really well.

I watched your show for the first time today and I live in Vancouver, Canada zone 7-8. One way you can control slugs, and snails in your garden is by throwing some crumbled egg shells around the plant’s base. This definitely keeps them out. I do it around lettuce and kale plants too and it keeps them away. I have blackeyed Susan plants and they don’t necessarily attract snails and slugs. But yes they do like all chewable leaves. Throwing few salt crystals also helps. Just my 3 cents worth. Sorry about the loss of your father. But you haven’t lost him - he is just some place else. We will connect again someday…❤

Great tips! I'm new to growing roses and wanted to know if Holly Tone fertilizer is good for roses? Thanks
@AmritaBhortake24 күн бұрын
Hi Octavia, the Holly tone fertilizer is NPK: 4-3-4 vs the Rose tone that is 4-3-2. So it looks like Holly tone has more potassium in it compared to Rose tone. You can use it on the roses but maybe add it a little less during the flowering season. It is a good fertilizer to add in time for winter because it will help harden the canes to prepare the plant for winter hardiness. Hope this helps!

I was always told to clip the flowers off my basil plants 🤷🏻♀️
@AmritaBhortakeАй бұрын
Great point and yes that is true for Genovese basil or sweet basil but not true for holy basil and it makes the flavor of holy basil stronger and the flowers have great medicinal value too. I don’t use my holy basil or kapoor tulsi for pesto or on my pasta

That’s a great question and I would recommend having gloves while wrapping it too. I just cannot wrap the leaves with gloves on because I find them too cumbersome. I did get 2 cuts though. Lol 😂 Also, there is no way to remove the sharpness as the edge of the leaf is sharp

How densely do we need to seed them to fill a container or have groupings of them in a garden bed?

I do groupings in my raised bed usually set in odd numbers of 3,5 or 7 as it makes the space look visually appealing. But you can also fill the entire container with the same flower.

Nothing blooms “forever”! Every plant has a life. Hate click bait, misleading video titles. Be honest and stop trying to get viewers. I don’t watch your channel but the title of this video compelled me to write this comment.
@AmritaBhortakeАй бұрын
Thanks so much, Ann for taking the time for your feedback. Yes, every plant has a life but if a plant is living for 1000 years more than our lifetime then it is forever for us, isn’t it? You would get that part if you had taken some time to watch the video. I think the point I am making is more so a comparison between annuals that you have to constantly plant each season versus these perennials that come back year after year, hence the blooms “forever”.
