I think the reason Alice being alive is such a big deal is that it thoroughly invalidates Avery as heir. The will said that if he died before Alice everything went to her, so if she’s alive all that money that Avery gave away was never hers…….

Girl I loveee this series but I swear the last book's ending was so underwhelming, like you said. You're telling me this is the "final boss" of the series yet he never laid a hand on her? So weird. But overall I still loved the series and as a Jameson shipper, I was pretty satisfied. Honestly I love Grayson so much to the point I'd rather keep him to myself (LOL) and that's why I'm a Jameson shipper, like Avery just doesn't match with him. He definitely deserves better tho and I hope he finds the one in The Grandest Game. Anyway, hope you make a vlog on that book too! It was great hearing your thoughts as well, like I'm discussing it with my friend <33

Holland and Switzerland are without wars, foreign or domestic; monarchical governments, it is true, are never long at rest: the crown itself is a temptation to enterprising ruffians at home; and that degree of pride and insolence ever attendant on legal authority, swells into a rupture with foreign powers, in instances where a republican government, by being formed in more natural principles, would negotiate the mistake. - Common Sense by Thomas Paine

Honestly I think that Cal or *someone* should have died, Cal's death being fake actually disappointed me, I would have been more impressed with Noni's guts had it stuck. It's just kind of a thing that bothers me with this many characters fighting a literal war and everybody makes it out. I also think my greatest gripe is that Kiva lost her power, because it's an annoyingly common occurrence for FMC of YA fantasy to lose their magic powers at the end, I will say it was one of the more "earned" instances because the power sucking dagger wasn't a total out of the blue thing, it had been previously set up, but being an artifact from the gods you'd think there'd be some kind of judgement, like Kiva was this great light and just *poof* the light is gone, because of a pure selfless sacrifice. The dagger was made to combat the evil Corentine. So why can't it sense Kiva's heart and know she's pure? If the issue is no one should have the power, Kiva could have been dampened, like no longer able to throw it or having to physically touch the person, or it be draining like she's kind of taking part of their injury, but for another FMC be stripped of their power, it's disappointing to me. (I do actually really like these books, and Cal's fakeout made me super emotional, but it being a "JK, he's fine" and Kiva loosing all trace of her powers are really my biggest and only gripes). I would love for there to be a couple of short slice of life novellas, that'd be amazing.

I am so glad I find out your spoiler filled videos😂I mean I read and listen this books so you didn't spoiled anything for me but I really enjoy hearing other ppl opinions on the books,on the characters,...I first listened your review of the 4th book and now when I have time I watched this one too,we all read the same thing but every single one of us has different take on the characters, situations....I loved all 3 books and when I started reading I was 100% team Grayson, considering books were wrote from Avery's POV she sold it to me I thought that will be slow burn but eventually endgame and boy was I wrong 😂at the end I concluded that one brother liked her but loved Emily and wasn't over her and the other brother liked Emily but loved Avery and I was ok with that because there were some cute moments.Now I think there was never real love triangle in this books,I guess author knew there will be "teams" between readers and give us crumbs when it comes to Avery and Grayson and purpose of those "crumbs" was to show us what kind of man Grayson is,he loves and protect his family and as he said will always choose and protect his family,he chooses not to make same mistake twice,he is simply honorable and in my opinion underestimated character in this trilogy but book 4 was just perfect for him.Avery was most of her life invisible like she said wallpaper and she like Jameson see her but other then that she was leaning more towards Grayson even when he was rude she liked him ,they think alike at least that is what she thinks,he protects her,...so I got impression even though so little happened between them she always leaned more towards him,but at the end what made her different from Emily was once she made her choose she stood by it,she didn't play the games and manipulate them.Now I am dieing to know what or if boys discussed Avery when they were gone to meat with Grayson's father because to me it seems they did based on what Avery overheard while being in coma,did Grayson told Jamie he is stepping away from her for him,I want to know those unexplained parts in order to better understand character and what was that character going through,because it is Avary's pov not thirs. Even though third book basically kill every chance of Grayson/Avery by ruining his character with the whole thing of him not being over Emily and him taking Eve'side,I still wouldn't mind to see them happened just because I think personality wise they go together more, even I know after everything that will not happen ,at this point it would be wrong and bad look for Avery and Grayson. Usually I really like one character but I admit here I loved both brothers , different personalities and trades, both have flaws and issues they are dealing with in their on way,I liked in book 4 we saw Gray actually deal with it in the right way,but now I would like to see Jamie did that too, because his self distractive tendencies were cute when they were happening in Hawthorne house but out in the world when he puts Avery and himself in danger it stops to be cute
@Alona28116 ай бұрын
I Love this one and can't wait for next one, even though I preferred Jameson in previous books in this one Graysons pov was more interesting, learning about him/them ,him getting to know his sisters, btw I adore them .Jameson pov was interesting but at the times seems game ,adrenalin and rush above all and everybody, it seemed cute in previous ones but in this one was putting Avery and himself in danger unnecessary and question is will Avery be enough for him if she decides to stop playing games. What I didn't like is Eve I just hope she won't get redemption arc in next book and I hope Grayson won't give her another chance,he just doesn't need another Emily and deserves better ,I didn't like he had feelings for her ,I don't get that,he didn't know her and basically fell for her just because she looked like Emily and because he didn't get over Emily,that is one of the reasons I didn't want Grayson and Avery to happen in previous books.I don't get why Jamie kept the secret of Alice being alive ,and she might be trouble for Avery in next book,also the phone girl is clearly set up for next book and almost sure Grayson's love interest ,but I would rather have him stay alone and happy working on him self and having open ending for his character ,it just seems weird for his end game to be introduced to us in last book but that is just in my opinion
@craftyreads6 ай бұрын
Wow thank you for this! Yeah I agree with you on pretty much everything. I can’t wait to see how Graysons story with his sisters goes. That was my favourite side of this book!
@Alona28116 ай бұрын
@craftyreads yeah that for sure,I love to know every single character in depth and the relationship with his sisters and more open and emotionally free Grayson would be refreshing, I would also like to see honest and open coversation between Avery and Grayson ,closure in the way for both of them ,because a lot of things happened and they never discussed it , at the end of book two it looked like she was leaning more towards Grayson and if he wasn't dealing still with losing Emily I don't know who would Avery choose, she liked them both, and I think that chapter is closed because there is too much history between Avery and Jamie now for possibility of Grayson and Avery to ever happen,also I would like to see for onece Jameson who don't think about next game ,puzzle to solve, I would like to see personal growth of his character also.
