Can anyone please tell me their thoughts as I have not seen any mention yet - if someone lives alone and has a condition (involving extreme fatigue and poor eyesight and balance) that prevents them from moving a LOT of cluttered boxes and inherited items in very small place that have accumulated over the years, such that they cannot now navigate over them access the kitchen, and bathroom - is this relevant, or helpful, or perhaps even hindering, to mention in a PIP claim ? Or perhaps is it only appropriate for a Social Care Needs Assessment Form ? Of course on a PIP form I can still mention their assistance needs when they visit to use my kitchen or bathroom.

@@teamwork1008 I would say that definitely get a social care form for extra help around the home. You can always mention to PIP that this is something you've requested or feel that you need but don't currently get the support. You can mention how without the support the struggles that you face on a day to day basis and how this affects your life and wellbeing. I would also mention about how this impacts your/their ability to do everyday tasks, such as washing/bathing. I hope this helps ☺️

Sometimes we need to do what's best for ourselves and letting go of people who aren't good for us isn't easy. I had a toxic friendship for over 5 years and although I knew it was toxic I didn't want to let her go. However after letting her go I feel so free. You can do what's best for you, letting go of people doesn't necessarily mean they are bad people, just not a good fit for you and that's ok 💖 I believe in you, even if nobody else does 🌟

What I agree with is helping people. I had no help and had to get on with the forms in 2017. After a word with my GP I got a visit from Capita. Now it seemed OK, but even though I have Aspergers he marked me down for being well presented, well groomed. He said I was social, even though I did not go out to pubs or clubs. Asked if I had a smart phone. Basically he made sure I got lower rates. I know people on Enhanced that have loads of friends and go to nightclubs. Yet say they have severe depression and anxiety. System is pathetic.

If you have Mental Health issues and a diagnosis you should be entitled. If however you simply have no diagnosis and only your word then you should be assed by a professional
@DeeannaLouise
@DeeannaLouise Ай бұрын
I semi agree with you and yes in an ideal world this should be the case however I know how easy some mental health conditions are diagnosed and how hard it can be to get others. So yes it should be the case that if you have a diagnosed mental health condition you should just get it but I think this would mean that some people would fake having an easily diagnosed condition just for the money. I think this would ultimately take care and resources away from those would truly need it. You said "if you have mental health issues and a diagnosis", how do you think this should be assessed by PIP if at all?
@paganartisan
@paganartisan 29 күн бұрын
@DeeannaLouise Firstly I would loan the money for the diagnosis, only to be paid back if unsuccessful. Too many people on Pip have no long term disibility. I also think it would stop people going abroad. Tax is about to go up so working people will be looking to blame Benefits. Just my opinion.
@DeeannaLouise
@DeeannaLouise 29 күн бұрын
@@paganartisan this makes sense, I'm always curious about what others think because there are so many opinions. I personally think that if a person has a diagnosis this should speed up the progress and make it more likely to get PIP but not guaranteed. PIP as a system say they focus on how it affects somebody and not the actual condition. However I feel the people assessing the claims aren't trained enough or they don't have the understanding to fully know how a condition might affect someone. I feel that PIP needs to look into who they are employing as assessors because I've had assessors that quite obviously don't understand the condition or will pick holes in your statements until you say something that they can use to say you don't need PIP.
@paganartisan
@paganartisan 29 күн бұрын

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed because I have over 120 pieces of evidence as I have lots of chronic illnesses, did they focus on the evidence or was it more on the initial assessment and descriptors? This entire PIP process since the initial application has been a year and a lot has changed in a year so its hard to explain everything
@DeeannaLouise
@DeeannaLouise Ай бұрын
@@AmyClarkesinger it's a bit of both. Do you have the write up from your initial assessment? I would start by writing where you feel they didn't give you points where you think they should have at the time the assessment was done and then in a different colour I'd write an update if there is one. Then I'd look at your evidence and pull any really important ones out and mention those at tribunal. Usually they ask you questions from the initial assessment but also additional ones. Usually the judge is the main person speaking and asking questions and then they offer the space to the other professionals attending. I wish you the best of luck for your tribunal and I hope you get awarded what you need/deserve

I’m really sorry.. I have “rule out borderline personality” on my medical record from 2014 from a provider who saw me literally 2x for a total of 30 minutes. I have never been diagnosed with this. I have PTSD, not BPD. It hangs around my neck like a noose whenever I meet new providers who have immediate access to this hospital systems medical records. It’s embarrassing, untrue, and very damaging. I am an RN, a wife of 11 years, and don’t deserve this stigma.
@DeeannaLouise
@DeeannaLouise 2 ай бұрын
This is what I'm talking about! Being wrongly diagnosed with anything is hard but being wrongly diagnosed with bpd really can destroy someone and their medical reputation as in medical professionals will always see them as a bpd patient and with the stigma that surround that is so difficult. I was wrongly diagnosed and am now in the fight for getting bpd removed from my medical files or corrected if not removed. Thank you for commenting, it really means a lot 💕

@@DeeannaLouiseI am extremely sorry to hear you’re dealing with the same thing. Selfishly it’s comforting to know I am not alone, in such a way that somebody understands how I feel, but I would NEVER wish this on even my worst enemy. Having this on one’s medical record is just downright damaging, and frankly a total violation if it’s not true or handed out far too quickly. This is a diagnosis that must be handled with the utmost care and only for those who truly fit criteria, after lengthy evaluation spanning weeks to months. And, given the opportunity to be excluded after treatment or be changed to “former BPD in sustained remission.” I’m not sure how medical records are handled in your country but in the US, a BPD diagnosis stays with you for life whether true or not. The only way to get a BPD diagnosis somewhat corrected on one’s record would be to have a future diagnosis and notes reflecting the correction, but the initial diagnosis will never go away in the US; therefore, a sort of addendum to correct fact could be added, but the BPD diagnosis would never be scrubbed from the record. It’s truly disturbing. In my particular case, because it is “rule out borderline personality disorder - 2014” I believe if I sought reevaluation to clarify my medical record and in fact provide the “rule out,” it might actually have some impact on my situation. I have already been ruled out, but the medical system in question does not accept the rule out because it was not from a psychiatrist. This is just ridiculous as a psychologist can diagnosis just the same. I refuse to revisit a psychiatrist, especially one who knows what I am there trying to rule out. The thing that brought these emotions to the surface for me recently (sorry, I know this is long!) is that my husband and I are gratefully pregnant with our first child, and I sought out a midwife to attend my pregnancy and birth. She has been wonderful and I am so happy with her care. She does not practice with the particular hospital system that has the “BPD rule out” on my medical record. Ironically that erroneous medical record also states I have asthma, which I do not, nor have I ever. As an RN, I am certain I would know lol. I also have a psychology bachelors so I quite understand the differences between complex PTSD and BPD, but neither here nor there… So the midwife has my ACTUAL medical history, not what the hospital would tell her. Well, I started going to a pelvic floor therapist at her suggestion for hypertonic pelvic floor symptoms (hello, PTSD manifesting), and when the pelvic floor therapist sent my midwife her recommendations and treatment plan, it has the medical history from that hospital system. Why on God’s green earth would my pelvic floor therapist be given access to that information from the hospital, let alone be able to share it with the midwife? It has absolutely nothing to do with my treatment from either, and I do not feel my release of information should have extended that far. Thankfully my midwife was really sympathetic but it just brought up all kinds of shitty feelings. Pregnancy with a history of complex emotional trauma is hard enough without this utter BS. Thanks for listening. I will pray your journey forward is peaceful and includes correcting that medical record! I am here if you need to purge anything that having this video commented on might have drummed up emotionally for you.

@@sublimesamoyed again thank you for commenting! In the UK I think it's fairly similar how the diagnosis would never get removed but would basically state an end date and then a new diagnosis without an end date, therefore stating the change. I know this happens with things like UTIs etc where once you've finished the treatment and not come back for more treatment it gets automatically marked as past medical history rather than current medical history. I get wanting to relate to someone and honestly that's why I made my channel because I want to help people no matter where they live. I'm glad I was able to help you to feel less alone. I have talked about BPD on my channel amongst other mental topics if you fancy giving them a watch. My dream is to be able to do KZfaq full time and now have a "real" job as my source of income. However, thank you again for commenting and congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope it is healthy and you are blessed with your bundle of joy on time (and you don't go overdue). I actually have a real interest in midwifery as here in the UK midwife's deliver the babies most of the time. Doctors only need to when it's a complex birth or the birth needs intervention such as forceps or C-section. Either way, thank you for your support and I believe in you, even if nobody else does 💓
