What yall not getting is that the issue isnt Kendrick not being top 10, its that Lupe claims Drake ( who gets major help with writing his verse and songs) is a top tier lyricist and thats crazy! If Lupe considering himself a top tier lyricist how can he put Drake in his tier when Drake isnt a lyricist!!!!!

Are you referring to what Lupe said? If so it wasn’t bad it’s just a little bitter to me because he was Kendrick before Kendrick same style and now he isn’t in the light
@vicedm1145Ай бұрын
@@SplashTalkPodcast I feel it’s Lupe being Lupe. He has an ego because of how smart he is which rubs some the wrong way but that’s pretty standard for people of his tier, imo. Reznor, Corgan, Yorke, Corey Taylor etc all have similar egos and can sometimes downplay those who “are close” to their status. It’s not to say I agree with him, Kdot isn’t in my top rappers but is in my top artists (I consider him a better artist than rapper, myself) but I wouldn’t have him THAT low for me. But if he is in the scene like that, he’s probably seen some dope lyricists that he rates high. Kinda like how I underrated UK guys because I only knew Dave
@RahmenNoodlesАй бұрын
Lupe can name more rappers off the top of his dome than yall could attempt to research and find in an hour. And they’re mostly battle rappers, the EODub crowd at that. Some of the most grossly technical rappers of all time. Some shit yall wouldn’t even wanna listen to. But Lupe loves that shit, and it’s technically super proficient to a level that no mainstream rapper will go. That’s what he means.
@SplashTalkPodcastАй бұрын
I get it but as a master of hip hop and a professional teacher he knew what his comments would do and how they would be perceived. Once he started to receive backlash he apologized. Should have stood on it.
@RahmenNoodlesАй бұрын
@@SplashTalkPodcast but he ain’t apologize for shit tho. He literally said he never apologized to Kendrick and complex twisted his words (as they often do). Yall running on a false premise. Lupe is not afraid of Kendrick. They’re 2 of the greatest rappers of all time. But as far as diss track records, Kendrick took down a pop star who nobody expected to keep up, while Lupe very easily took down Royce, another battle rapper, who is touted as a top lyricist as well.

It’s simple Sexxy Red vs Rhapsody. Most of these mainstream artists aren’t anywhere near the level that is actually the top of their craft. It’s a business and Rappers that rap rap don’t get a look in. 😢
@SplashTalkPodcastАй бұрын
Makes sense but in Lupe’s case he was in. For sure agree about Sexxy Red she has the least talent I’ve seen in rap ever.
@randyjeter90Күн бұрын
No1 is dumb. Everyone can relate. Throughout history we’ve all had our some underground or lesser known rappers above some mainstream rappers in our rankings. As much as I love Lupe the point is he talking out both sides of his mouth and def capping. It’s not bothering no1 that he knows rappers that’s not popular that he ranks high as far as lyricism goes. The main problem is he claimed Kendrick is not a top tier lyricist but drake is. Then turn around and basically described y kdot is without admitting it. Lupe don’t fuck with niggas that for writers and drake uses them dot don’t but drake is a top tier lyricist gtfoh
@randyjeter90Күн бұрын
More importantly Lupe and dot has way too much in common lyrically and they been getting compared their whole careee I feel like that’s part of what bothers Lupe the most

First person shooter was supposed to have kdot on it he declined so it ended up just j and drake then it was report idk if true but kdot had 2 of thos disses pre record we waited 2 week thinking kdot wasn't going to reply then he drop 4 songs got played by a troll but fuck it drake was going to lose no matter what he not a rapper like that pop star
@SplashTalkPodcastАй бұрын
Yes Kendrick was supposed to be on the song. The part that sparked it up was both of them saying it was only them as the best rappers. Also the people who were at the recording session with K Dot said he recorded 10 songs straight in one 24 hour session which is wild! But I think he had a chance to win family matters had some good parts and push ups was solid. He needed to keep that intensity and flow.
@angelnunez927Ай бұрын
@SplashTalkPodcast drake never would have won a rap battle with kdot but I ment not the 10 straight shit which is crazy that he knew drake was mad he was going to do the song then came at him in like that but since thos songs were made months ago he was already preparing for war and drake thought he wasn't even ready but tbh I think he only has 4 diss songs for drake drake was fight a 20 v 1 but he didn't even need to should kept it a 1v1 still a good time drake did leak that kdot did this cuz he was dropping a album and use him for clout so kdot don't want to drop rn
