from Japan. You know a lot about Japanese rock bands! BAND-MAID has previously performed with a band called The Last Rockers (which includes X JAPAN, L'Arc & Ciel, and MIYAVI). By the way, this song is actually an anime song. It is a remake of an old Japanese anime called "Goldorak" in France, and is the ending song for a work called "Grendizer U." The opening song was performed by GLAY, but if you ask me, it's an overwhelming victory for BAND-MAID. However, their popularity in Japan is exactly the opposite. It seems that BAND-MAID's music is still too advanced for Japanese music listeners 😂

I’m surprised to hear that you’ve hear such negative things about Eli. It’s a little silly to compare the members of Voiceplay to each other, since they all have such different voices, do different things and are all extremely skilled at what they do. That being said, I would be tempted to say that Eli has the most vocal control, range, and flexibility.

Dreamcatcher always slay with their vocals! Justice is part two of a two-part series, the first one is OOTD, which intentionally sounds very differently. Just like ymenehcra for OOTD, an account named 9mynameis1 has been posting messages before the comeback. She posted that her seven friends became obsessed with the crown and have not been responding anymore, which corresponds with the secret diary Siyeon (our powerhouse main vocal, also known as Wolfie) is reading. The text there reads "How are you? I'm worried because you aren't replying." So what we are seeing here is the seven friends (Dreamcatcher) getting rid of their obsession with the crown (materialism, narcicism) by literally destroying it, which makes their friend rejoin them (there is an eighth person joining them near the end). There is also a lot of imagery about death and legendary figures like Valkyries or greek goddesses and legends. Reddit user PaintMeYaBasic has managed to identify these paintings in the MV: Hero by Edward Burne-Jones (from the tale of Hero and Leander), Valkyrie and a Dying Hero by Hans Makart, Hero and Leander by Salvator Rosa and finally "Justice" by Kenyon Cox in the center back. In the tale of Hero and Leander from Greek mythology, Hero is actually a priestess of Aphrodite (Venus in the Roman myths), so that is not the same as the hero who is taken from the battlefield by a Valkyrie in the other painting. But OOTD has the line "I'm Venus, Nephthys, call me a Goddess". It is likely there is a connection. While OOTD was about falling for the temptations of modern life and a satire on narcicism (especially influencers and fast fashion), I believe Justice is telling us to fight those temptations for a better world. It is a call to become a warrior for good in the world and fight the materialism that seems to be the most important thing for many people in the developed countries. You can see JiU break the bonds that hold her down, and we should do the same. Please note that this is just my interpretation. Art can be interpreted in different ways, and other opinions are just as valid as mine. There are also many references to their older MVs in this. The paintings also have a deeper meaning in Chase me, there is a sword in Deja Vu and Scream, the bite into the apple is a callback to BEcause and the tree to the Dystopia trilogy - and so on. There are many more. The 8th figure in the end could also be JiU from Deja Vu, finally breaking the cycle of violence and leading to justice. Musically, I love the song. The guitars in the pre-chorus and chorus are pure heaven (just like Dongie with her wings). It has the right amount of heaviness for me, and it is an anthem and a call to action. I also love that they shortened the pre-chorus by two bars in the second half, throwing us into the chorus early. Justice is a brilliant, epic release, showing everyone that a group can still produce fantastic music and MVs after seven and a half years. I can't help it, I deeply respect these ladies and their whole team.

Deejay did a cover with VoicePlay of Man in the Mirror

Deejay was on the Voice. He made it to Knockouts. John Legend was his coach. He toured with Hamilton for a couple years. His tour ended last year in Puerto Rico. Since he's done some local solo shows featuring his own music and covers in Tampa and Orlando. He performed as Burr in Hamilton on Broadway for 5 weeks in the Spring and recently performed in a Beyonce night at 54 Below in NYC.

While Geoff's group VoicePlay is a cappella, Geoff on his solo channel has always used instrumentation (usually pretty light instrumentation) to accompany his vocals. He says he saves the a cappella music for VoicePlay, where he arranges about 1/2 of the songs. Geoff also added some of his own lyrics and music to the original song, but does it so seamlessly that unless you're pretty familiar with the original, you'll never be able to pick out what he's added. On your point about paraphernalia in the video: I think there is even LESS than you might think. While it looks like there are 5 chairs and 2 lamps, my guess is that there is only one lamp and one chair of each style. I know in his I See Fire video, he only had one stump for the clones to sit on, so he just moved it from place to place on the set as he filmed each clone's part. Probably did the same thing here with the "4" chairs.

Geoff uses intruments in his solo work.

Geoff doesn't sing Acapella on his channel and saves that for his group VoicePlay. They are releasing a new video this morning. Geoff and his wife Kathy do most of his videos on their own. Arrangement, Video concept, Filming, editing, costumes, makeup, sets and props. For big projects he calls in Rick Underwood for makeup, Eli helps with lightning ques and Layne does steady Cam if needed. I enjoy all the patron behind the scenes videos. Watching them do all the work themselves and sing is mind blowing.

I have loved this western story song since the first time I heard the Marty Robbins LP record that Mom and Dad had.

Note, Piri actually has Spanish subtitles. A lot of their earlier MVs have numerous subtitles you don't usually get because they were from when youtube allowed user submitted subtitle tracks and the fandom was very good about that. Their MV Scream has around 42 subtitle tracks.😆
