Another thing about your ruler I have one of the grab handles suction cup from Harbor freight you have absolute control when you put that on your room quilting ruler. They are inexpensive too.

This video is a little old so hopefully you respond haha. I am about to start my first year of Uni and I love Midori, they are my favourite stationary brand. As someone who prefers to handwrite, would you say the Midori Codex will be good for note-taking? My plan is to use the A5 notebook, because of its smaller size for actual lectures, and then use the A4 Codex for nicer notes and for word processing, so when it comes down to studying for exams, I have a nice large and very neat book to read and reference from. I plan on using them as a set, an A5 Notebook and an A4 Codex per class as they are very note-intensive classes (English language and Linguistics is my degree). What would your advice be?
@harrywstephen2 ай бұрын
Sorry, I guess it's also A5 sized. However, I still think the extra pages will be nice in having more room/space to lay out notes and make them more digestible.
@sarahmartinezjournals2 ай бұрын
Yes the codex is A5 sized. I’m using one now! I think it would be great for notes. I only caution how thick it is. It can be cumbersome to write near the edge because of the steep drop off-if you place your phone underneath your hand or something else to prop your hand on, it makes it more comfortable to write!

Hi Sarah! I know this is an older video. Hope you will still see my question. I switched to an A6 Day-Free completely because of YOUR video, back when you received your first one and were really excited to use it. It doesn't appear that you're using the Day-Free anymore. Can you say why? What about it didn't work out for you? Thank you so very much! (And I hope your health is much improved since you made this video. ❤

Great review! With a rollerball like this that uses fountain pen ink, any types or brands of fountain pen ink that should be avoided ?
@sarahmartinezjournals3 ай бұрын
I don’t have a ton of experience with many brands but what I do know is that shimmer inks should avoided at all costs! Even the tiniest particles will clog it and it’s almost impossible to clean. I’ve even had some high sheening inks get stuck a bit.
@jeffreyclayman69223 ай бұрын
@@sarahmartinezjournals what’s the difference btw inks that shimmer vs sheen?
@sarahmartinezjournals3 ай бұрын
Shimmer inks have actual glitter particles in them. They will settle at the bottom of the bottle so you have to gently shake the bottle before filling a pen. Sheening inks have no glitter but the ink shifts to different colors if you look at it from different angles on paper. There are inks with both shimmer and sheen (J Herbin Emerald of Chivor is my favorite).

It took me far too long to effectively use pocket notebooks mainly because I was far too concerned with style and form. I spent too much time on “the look” of the notebook’s pages and the organization of the content. One day I just started jotting lists, thoughts, reminders, passages from online news articles, names of interesting books, even random spoken phrases from passersby that I found curious or entertaining. Suddenly, my pocket notebook took shape.

💯 agree with you on the tracking . Some people are data collectors- and that’s ok- but I don’t need to collect data only for the sake of collecting data. It needs to serve a function for me- even if it’s a non serious one. This year I started a sunset tracker to see how many sunsets I can see in a week. Fun way to motivate me to get see more sunsets!

With the way things are going the TSL Utility will be 300$ soon... I totally agree about the zip interior, could have been bigger. I ended up placing a Rickshaw 3 pen sleeve (with the Beautiful Artwork) sandwiched in between the Spaces! Works a Treat 🧁 Hope they release a Blue version again, kicking myself for not picking that up. Im enjoying using the things Ive got since 2020, Its been cathartic to say the least.

A Little of mine does the same thing & will bring their names up in Conversation every now and then. It is something to see how Children take such events.
