U simply are a product of your environment ... I grew up with my mom in the Mission District of San Francisco. ( The Barrio ) , puro Mexicans back in the days (80's ) . I was a Homeboy who was hanging around with the wrong peeps doing bad shit. But I had my dad's house who lived in a nice beach town where there weren't any gangs....My dad recognized that I was getting into trouble at my Mom's ( had dudes from Barrio Excelsior looking 4 me who were going 2 fuck me up ) He moved me out of the hood 2 live with him & push me to school. It took me a couple of yrs to acclimate & realize that Latinos in this area are all going to the community college..... Now I own in a 3000 sq. ft. house in a nice neighborhood... I own my own business. Married with 2 beautiful kids who are growing up nothing like where/ how I grew up....
